Glad to hear about the windshield.

I'm still trying to decide cosworth vs k&n

I am picky as hell. Super picky. Absurdly.

They let me watch the entire job, and the guy doing the work did a flawless one.

-NOTHING was torn, cracked, broken, scratched, or lost.
-The pinch-weld was primed very well.
-The bead was a "V" bead as is OEM, and was "tied" where it was joined. It was very healthy looking and I find the concept of it leaking improbable.
-There is no squeaking or wind-noise at all.
-Everything went back together with no way of anyone being able to tell it was ever apart.

Aside from the receipt in my glove box, it never happened.

I cannot endorse Safelite, however. I CAN endorse the tech's who did my work (the manager, who has experience doing Ferrari circuit cars did 95% of it). To endorse an entire chain is ridiculous. However, if you are in the Shreveport/Bossier LA area, I CAN! endorse Joe Goodwin and HIS Safelite location as competent, polite, and understanding of OCD.

Oh...I also installed my Cosworth drop-ins. Just blowing through them with my mouth, they flowed a bit freer than my OEM filters. They also have less pleats...hrmmm...

Either way, just cranking, the car has a bit of "hiss" to it now.

Next up...re-tint down to the AS1 on the new windshield.

Congrats, Congrats!! :icon17:

Hey Nick, I have a set of K&N drop-in for sale, since I installed the short-ram, I have no use of it.

It only has about 200 miles on it, since I don't drive in Winter.

Still have boxes and the +20hp-Stickers!!!

But he was interested in MY K&N's. They are new in the wrapper. Stickers/boxes included. :roflpuke2:

Honestly, I think whatever is cheaper will do. Sure, you'll have to clean and re-oil the latter at 30K intervals (but it's really nbd), and if you buy the former you can tell everyone at the meets that you have a Cosworth (part in your) 370Z, but really whatever you can find for a lower price should do :)

Nick911sc 03-09-2012 12:36 PM

Yea but if one breathes better than the other I might gain +/- 1/2 hp! LOL

Alchemy 03-09-2012 12:44 PM

I wish they made a Cosworth that would fit on the Gen 3.

Recently I have been hearing bad things about K&N. In the tests I have seen posted by people of the forum it doesnt filter as well as you would think. Seems like the Cosworths do a better job.

kenchan 03-09-2012 12:57 PM

Alchemy- That's also why I'm debating cosworth drop ins...

Kenchan- Congrats! I'm sure you're excited to get that car back on the road. Surprised you use Mobil 1 though (not trying to start a great oil debate)

thanks. hey, does cosworth actually make those filters per their specs or is that a rebadge from someone else? not that im getting a pair.

mobil1 is good stuff for newer engines imho. been using it for like the last 10yrs or more. ive looked at purple power and redline, but for my driving mobil1 is sufficient. if i do MT fluid change though (on my G), im going to use redline.

Wow! That sounds really progressive! I'll have to drop by when I'm on the Island visiting my folks. :)

I went with 255/35/19 front and 285/35/19 rear.

Got them through a member of our club. INI - Indiana Nissan Infinity.

He works at a local tire shop. Got them for $1300 installed.

nice! 255/35 is kinda thin on the profile side, but that's ok? i think i wouldve done 265/35 on the front.

Mr. Alchemy -- Koni Koni Koni nag nag nag Marcia Marcia Marcia -- that's all anyone has been saying to me lately. :icon17:

Koni's next week. I am burning a PTO day to get it done. The Juke takes priority tomorrow for two reasons:

1. Immediate gratification

2. Since the Echo died, my wife has been driving our 1984 F-150 that gets 10 MPG and has a certain way it likes to be handled in the mornings when cold that makes it less than user-friendly.

3. Immediate gratification

Oops, that's three things on the list -- you get the picture.

The Koni install has met one roadblock after another, but I am determined to get them on.
