Cool cars are worth a lot when they're 40-50 years old because 50 to 60-year-olds who have disposable income buy up the cars they wished they could have had when they were 18 or 20. Once they're 70 or older, they're not usually in the market to pick up old cool cars anymore. (Yes, maybe some old folks keep their cool car and drive it, but I'm talking about active buyers driving up market prices.)
I mean, that's something I've heard before from someone else. But it makes sense. And it fits for me also. I'm 50, and think late 60's or early 70's cars are cool. But you could never get me to put down any of my money on a 50's car. They're just not cool to me, I guess since they already seemed old when I was 16. Anyway for an old car, I sooner be after a 300Z or '90 M3 instead of an old musclecar.
