Sort of. I shopped around a little but did not buy anything. I need a monopod that will extend long enough so that I do not have to hunch over when I use it. It seems like the ones I looked at were not designed with 6' 5" folks in mind. I am continuing to look around.

How was your weekend?

i see... huh, 6'5" monopod is like a towerpod. :icon17:

my weekend was okay, thanks for asking. :D i did manage to motor my Z on both Sat/barely on Sun, and do lots of kid's school stuff, house chores. there was no time to be bored.

i bought a 2nd internal hard drive for my MBP. :p it's one of those optical-drive replacement onces where i take out the optical drive and add a second drive using the sata connector. i needed a 7200rpm drive for my music recording software (my MBP came with a 5400rpm) and it was getting a little tiresome to unplug my firewire800 external HD each time i wanted to use the computer for non-music things so decided to go this route.

im expecting the new drive to come in this week sometime. :p i could've done SSD but the 7200rpm was only $50 for 320G (2.5" 9.5mm height) so will do SSD next time around i guess. :icon17:

it's getting much colder outside + wind + rain = :icon14: i can almost sense winter creeping in. need to wash my G again this weekend.

im wondering how well my G35C dust cover will fit my Z. :icon17: im going to be opening the garage door every work day this winter so i know blowing snow will get on my Z. shall i just buy a new cover for my Z? i hate car covers in general...

also im not sure if dust cover + some blowing snow powder on top is a good idea... could = mold. or stains...

A bit blurry unfortunately...

The lower the f-stop, the larger your aperture is... the larger the aperture, the smaller the depth of field (range of distances which are in focus) is. This can produce some really cool effects, like having the Z in focus up close, but having the background out of focus, like you have in your third photo. But if you're not careful about focus, it can also leave you with blurry shots.

If you're not going for those sorts of depth-of-field shots, you can compensate for this by setting your camera to aperture priority, and setting a high f-stop (like 8, or higher if your camera/lens has it). This will generally result in sharper images, where if any part of the image is in focus, the whole of it will be.

Last night I went to Pepboys and bought Mobil 1 oil & filter, a new wiper for the rear window and a new tire guage.

All these years I have been using a cheapo free tire guage that I got from my tire shop and after buying a quality one I realized it was wayyy off. All of my tires were underinflated by at least 5psi :shakes head:

huh, you have a rear wiper on your 350Z? :)

yah, i usually run back to back comparisions with several of my pressure guages to ensure accuracy when i first try it out after purchase.

I thought all 350's had rear wipers.

I had to buy a gauge for the 370 because there is not enough sidewall to employ my shoe-toe method of pressure testing.

Oh yeah -- Good day to you, Mr. Kenchan. :tiphat:

blah, you dont need TPMS. i dont use them on my G or my Z. i check psi every other week or so especially when temps are changing this time of year. :) 1psi change per 10F change. TPMS usually triggers at 28psi which is toooooo low. sidewall damage.

juruki- nice wheels. you will like them for sure. which offset/sizes did you get? mine are 19x9 ET38 (running 5mm spacer) and 19x10.5 ET15. :yum:

i found that if one checks too frequently on those cheezy rubber valve stems the stems themselves can actually break. lol! :rofl2: hope your wheels have metal valve stems and keep the cap only lightly tight.

last thing you want is the stem loosening up due to nut backing out inside the wheel. :D hahaha.

B&W_Evader 10-19-2011 05:58 PM

Almost go nailed by a lane changer on the way home last night getting onto the highway. Slammed on the brakes and moved onto the shoulder
Almost go rear ended by a Cadilac on the way in to work this morning in the fast lane on the highway when the traffic came to an abrupt stop. He changed lanes last second and I moved over to the shoulder. He was pretty darn close.

It's a jungle out there man!

thx! I have 19x9.5 +15, 19x10.5 +15. Gonna run a 20mm spacer in the rear to make it -5 offset. Hopefully I don't have to run that much camber to clear...

Any one have experience with QuickSilver brand car covers? How are they? :) I just want a light custom fit one that repels
water (blowing snow that might get inside garage).

I don't know much about that brand, but I do have one of these: NOAH®

While I haven't had a chance to use it (in storage with the rest of my household goods) the cover does appear to be very well made and looked like it won't do any damage to the paint if the car is clean. The inside of the cover feels exceptionally soft.

Minor updates..

I rebadged Veronika 370Z deleted, Fairlady Z added. And am going to install the GTR start button after work today, or tomorrow morning... Pics to come! (Not like we havent seen a million already of both mods lol)

yah, i use to live in LA long time ago and it was definitely nice. but i grew up where i am today so it's kinda like the homey place with good schools for kids, nice community, great neighbors (minus indian dood down the street with green yaris) etc. :D

thanks for the info and link. yah, i was looking at the noah one too. decided to go with the quick silver this time as i got a great deal on it and it will only be used inside the garage... the only time my Z really needs it is when i open the garage to pull out my G to go to work on a windy snow blowing day. :ugh2:
