Reinfroming?
I really need to proofread my posts.
It's like when you're about to say something and something in the back of your head says change it up. You're about send someone off with a "take care" and halfway through something tells you to say "good luck" and you end up with "take luck".
I was somewhere between "reminding" and "informing".

I fixed my massive boost leak causing my limp mode (intake pipe came out of the coupler), put the SSRs back on the rear, QDed, and drove down to the beach. Oh yeah...drove to my parent's for dinner and did a 3rd gear pull, aka spin the tires at a 60mph roll. The car is loving this low 70s temperatures tonight!

Well it was Saturday...

Installed clutch helper spring finally. BTW, post install I'm thinking this is a bogus clutch upgrade. Looks to me like that spring is there to keep it from banging for people who let the clutch slip off thier feet.

Installed 1" sound dampening foam on the cargo area floor.

Washed and waxed with McGuires Ultimate.

Drove the truck in today because it's supposed to rain:rofl2:

SPOHN 10-03-2011 10:37 AM

Drove her to the mall to get my iPhone worked on and got in a traffic jam.

kenchan 10-03-2011 11:26 AM

B&W-i dont think it's bogus but i also dont think that is the root cause of the Z being harder to engage smoothly. it's the latency on the throttle input. i dont foresee changing that spring on my car as ive gotten use to how the car responds, but do plan to flash the ECU some day. :)

FairladyZ10PG 10-03-2011 12:27 PM

That's weird but I actually feel that engagement is much smoother after the spring upgrade. For me it was the best upgrade for $15.

Red__Zed 10-03-2011 12:30 PM

Spring made a huge difference for me as well. Throttle funkiness was still there, but you can drive past that.

Got tired of the Plastidip wheels and removed it. My fingers still hurt from all the work, its not as easy to remove as i thought. The worst parts were the holes for the lugnuts and the inside of the barrels.

TypeOne 10-03-2011 02:07 PM

Drove my car to work.. then uploaded some pics from this past weekend.

Raised my car up 1/4''. Now have to set up an alignment. Going for more camber for track use.

kenchan 10-03-2011 04:55 PM

Was that corner balanced? The shop doesn't offer alignment?

I raised it up myself. Going to have all that done when I get some time.

Not sure. It's the shop Mike uses. Mostly you tell them what purpose you use the car for and they set it up. Great shop to my understanding. But I'm really only looking for about 2.1 all around.

Also bought these yesterday. Got a super deal on them. These are Stillen. Front only. Going to wait till my other rotors wear before I use these. About to pick up some Carbotech XP 8's. I'm trying to stock on brake parts so I'm also ready to go at the track.

Drove to Saddle Brook, NJ to do a presentation and got talked into driving into the city for dinner because some colleagues from L.A., Dallas and London were in town.
A lowered Z does not like NYC's battlefield style pavement. I'm actually quite good at driving in the city, but in the Z I hated every minute of it. It's hard to move at the same pace as everyone else when you're busy tip-toeing around potholes and crawling over bumps that threaten to rip parts off the car.

Here's a quick and dirty shot with my point and shoot. No tripod, so it's a little blurry. I still think it came out pretty cool, though:

Yah, that looks good Eric! What was the delay on your shutter? Question: how'd you get talked into driving hats might have been the only two seated in the group? LOL

Just a Sony DSC-W55 set on Nighttime. I'm guessing it was probably a full second exposure without looking at the EXIF.

Everyone else that was in the city flew in earlier in the week, so they're on foot or in cabs. I drove to Brooklyn to pick up another colleague, then down to the Lower East Side where I found a municipal garage where I was able to score a spot next to a pillar that allowed me to pull in diagonally and gain some extra door swingin' room.
That shot is at the TIGI Academy in Soho, at the corner of Broome and Greene Streets, about three blocks from the Holland Tunnel.

good morning, mr.onzedge. how is socal? nice and cool? :tiphat:

gurneyeagle 10-04-2011 12:16 PM

Decided to drown myself in carbon fiber. Received both my roll of Di-Noc and my Carid CF dash kit. Between the two of them, I hope to cover the center stack of nav, radio and HVAC controls using the dash kit for templates.

I also broke down and ordered the matte finish CF shifter ring, tach and door switch covers from A.J. at CarbonSignal. After looking at the Di-Noc, I realized there was no way I could ever do the shifter ring.

Besides my center stack project, I'll wrap my B pillars, rear valance, and hopefully have enough left to wrap some pieces on some other guy's cars.

Now it's off to Michael's to pick-up a dye pen to dye my interior stitching red.

It should be an interesting couple of weeks.

kenchan 10-04-2011 12:40 PM

gurney- nice!! keep us posted on the project. :p

someone did the shifter ring using DiNoc. i forgot if that was endgame or Z..someone...

Mr. Kenchan -- I am still in San Diego at the Laboratory Animal Sciences conference -- good times unless you happen to be a rat, mouse, pig or monkey. I tagged along with my favorite nerd scientist Mrs. (Dr.) onzedge. It gave me a chance to go visit Coronado where I went to junior high and high school and also get some photo work in. I will post in the DSLR thread when I get back.

I miss the Z's badly. I drove an Impala for a couple of days and if you ever wonder how GM got in the shape it is in today, then rent one. Geez.
