Finally got this thing installed, it should make it easier for me when I need to swap my bumper for shows/meets.

It can also take a beating better than the plastic undertray for those of you who are lowered..

Thanks, I bought it from a local member but they make a 370z version as well:

370Z ZSpeedPerformance Aluminum Engine Under Shroud

SPOHN 09-25-2011 06:46 PM

Drove the hell out my car at my first official track day. Will have review later.

Nice. In for the write up

Nick911sc 09-25-2011 06:50 PM

No Z action today. Helping my sister move into her new house. Drove my moms Wrangler(6MT) and laughed at how easy it is to drive compared to our Z's. Feels like it would be impossible to stall or buck the car.

Fire 09-25-2011 07:02 PM

Kewl spohn. Hope to attend the event next year if they allow verts on the track again. They posted just Fri. that they would be allowed this year. Any vert incidents that you know of?

None that I saw or heard. They just weren't allowed to get on the banking of the track. Understandable.

motored my z this am and took some snaps of the ET33 upfront. :p car is very neutral now on the turns. i can induce over steer mid-turn as needed.

and didn't get rained on. :p radar + barometric pressure reading = better forecasting than local weather.

had a nice drive up to matamoras pa today from ramsey nj via ny state thruway. I love the scenery on i84

onzedge 09-25-2011 08:04 PM

Very nice, Mr. Kenchan.

onzedge 09-25-2011 08:05 PM

Mr. Kenchan,

Forgive my ignorance, but what is an ET33?

ZeeingAround 09-25-2011 08:17 PM

Put 250 miles on the car this weekend. This will probably be the last long drive this year before the cover goes on. Played 48 holes in Northern michigan. the trees are just starting to turn, and is one of the most beautiful scenes to take in.
The clubs barely fit in the back of the car.

TheGreatOne 09-25-2011 08:19 PM

Took a cruise with the local VQ club, twisties, dips and nice roads. Great way to spend a few hours, about 20 cars. Pics soon

Night before, DIY Nismo cover and Injen intakes installed

Should have sanded the cover more, its rough, rushed it too much, so will need a re-do, but looks good from far lol

Thanks Spohn. Hope ya had a good time. Well as far as the no high banks thing I disagree but WTH are ya goin to do? As I told a frightened "instructor" at Watkins Glen that I met in Carlisle if you don't do anything that might possibly carry a risk you might as well stop living. Actually I told him he should give up walking cause he could get hit crossing the street. But whatever. They haven't proved that the car is any more of a rollover risk than the coupe. I do plan to attend next year if they keep the current policy of allowing verts even if it is off the high banks. I ain't scared.:stirthepot:

It's not that it has a higher rollover risk, but rather that it has a higher rollover consequence.
Miatas aren't allowed at most track events unless they have a hardtop or SCCA road race legal rollbar.

My first autocross event was today. SO FUN.

http://www.the370z.com/members/eazyd...autox-370z.jpg

It was the SCCA Attack of the Cones Event #8 at the Devens Airfield in Mass. I was listed as first place in Novice class and then for whatever reason they later disqualified that fastest lap. I still don't know why. For an hour or two I was thinking I would walk home a hero with a trophy. :shakes head: Still had fun though :) Oil temps were fine, stayed in the top of second gear the whole lap.

EDIT: Yes, that's a the370z.com decal on my quarter window - and yes I wore my the370z.com t-shirt today

Fire 09-25-2011 10:45 PM

Kewl Easy you probably got the rookie win so we must disqual shaft LOL. Like the painter tape number. Keep it up.
I know Luna but I still think people stress too much, like I said walking has it's own consequences. I had a guy in our car club get hit crossing the street in a cross walk and it almost killed him. He still walks, as good as he can with his wrecked leg.
Anyways I think the event will be kewl next year if they continue to allow the verts.

I was supposed to take delivery today but the Stealership changed my agreed deal to make me pay more money out my a**. They really ruined my day and seriously pissed me off. I am sitting in the dealership for 5 hours to find they changed the numbers when I stepped in the finance office. Crooks. Good luck for them selling that Z, the last Z they sold took 400 days and that is no lie. I was told by the salesman who was the only person who was cool with me. Anyways this is the car I was SUPPOSED to get. UGHH its so pretty, but I will not give that dealer a penny after that stunt. Maybe it wasn't meant to be, who knows.

Quick question guys. Im gonna start a few projects to get ready for ZDAYZ. Good excuse for more mods right? I have 3 things in mind but only have the cash to commit to two before she goes away for the winter. Choice numero uno, front & rear sways. Numero dos, cross drilled rotors w/ upgraded pads & brake lines. Numero tres, oil cooler. I fig I should def do the oil cooler although Id RATHER get choice 1 &2. Thoughts?? Also thoughts/opinions on oil catch cans. Worth it?

I'd choose 2 & 3.

2 and 3 look good!

LunaZ 09-26-2011 07:55 AM

What do you want to achieve with your mods at ZDAYZ?
If you need show points, the cross-drilled rotors are great for that. If you're going to be competing in some driving events, the swaybars and oil cooler are the way to go.

Fire 09-26-2011 08:42 AM

Lake I would call Nissan, let them know and ask for another dealer. I would also contact the dealership you where at and ask for the owner or senior manager to call you. It is possible that things are going on at the dealship that they don't know about. I would still not do buisness with them.
:shakes head:

Sway bars for sure. Oil cooler is not needed for the dragon.

Fire 09-26-2011 08:47 AM

Alchemy my recomendations would be based on your car. What is your car? sport/touring, base, sport? If you have the sport/touring I would do the cooler and sways. If you have base brakes I would go with the brake upgrade. All three mods would help. Good luck :ughdance:

Good job. I am sorry they disqualified your fast lap. You did well regardless. I may steal your numbering idea someday.
