They just cut prices, and are caught up on production.

Installed mine a few weeks ago, curious to ask. Do yours have adjustable or welded tips?

Stuff in the road is a major hazard. It pays to keep as focused as possible for these random obstacles. There are some low-life dirtbags here in CA who are intentionally leaving rocks and concrete chunks in the middle of busy roads. They even paint them black to make them less visible. Amazing.

Seriously? People put that on the highway? For the purpose of causing accidents? wow. Is that a Cali thing? dang.... Do these fools actually take the time to spray paint them black, load it on their pick up trucks (I assume it's a truck), then dump from the truck onto the highway road, more than likely at night??????? OMG... those people should be flogged.

Z-wise, I kenchaned her to work today. Had a kid walking to school say "Nice car man!" to me... that never gets old and reminds me that I'd never get those compliments in any other car for the roughly the same value... Then, driving her to work and back is the best part of the day and puts me in a good mood to start the day. But when I get a-holes that cut me off and almost clip my front fender, I get pissed and my day is ruined. Then they look at you like it's your fault. Honestly? F-ers.

Anyway, I salvaged what remaining joy I had from my drive and listend to my Invidias hum their sweet tune. Now I am at work and am waiting for the chance to drive her again at lunch :)

onzedge 09-13-2011 08:34 AM

G2z -- hey careful with that Berk talk!!! :icon17:

I was an early adopter of the Berk CBE and I am in love with it sti :driving:ll.

It is a sad commentary.

Drove mine to work today. People actually move out of my way and keep their distance when I brake for a red light unlike when I take the Altima to work and i get cut off and tailgated. Guess no one wants to pay insurance if they tap my Z's paint. :p

My wife said she will pickup the box at the postoffice today. :D. There is no way in hell I can pickup during the week unless I take time off why I have to pay time for USPS shortcoming is beyond me.

I know what's wrong. There is a pandemic of non-accountability and douchebaggery in our society -- or so it seems.

It is not funny. It is a conspiracy. We need to pay attention to what these innocent looking birds are reallydoing.

Hey quick question Ken. Im unfamiliar with QD's. Exactally when do you use them and what exactally is the purpose?? I figured I could search the net and find out but since youre such a detail freak I thought Id get the answer straight from the horses mouth.

i use it to remove dust and light oils or contaminants on clean paint surfaces. for example if your car sat outside overnight with dew in the morning it's beyond QD's capacity to remove grime safely. you'd want to wash it or use the super-lube cleaner like water-less car wash sprays.

As for the QD i use, i have 3 different kinds.
1. cheezo :rofl2: Meguiar's maroon bottle sold locally for clay lube.
2. Griot's SpeedShine (natural wax based)
3. Prima Slick (polymer based)

for polymer based QD it can handle higher surface temperatures so i use it on cars parked out doors when i see bird crap. i usually just wash my dd's but if it hadn't been rained on all week, i use QD.

i also use polymer based QD on my wheels.

for my hobby car like my Z, i dont usually drive in the rain so i use SpeedShine...SpeedShine cause it has ability for liquids to bead instead of sheet/roll off the paint. i want the lube to be on the surface when i use my towel to remove the dust and light oils from motoring around town. :driving:

QD's are best on cool surfaces, max warm to the touch.

not exactly today - but last weekend... drove up and saw this guy...

kenchan 09-13-2011 04:01 PM

^^ cool. ive never seen the president (or any presidents) in person. :)

RandyD 09-13-2011 04:04 PM

On Saturday, George W and Clinton and Joe Biden were there - saw them - then Sunday Barack and Michelle.

Biden and Clinton are the most impressive in person.

Skeeterbop 09-13-2011 06:24 PM

I got attacked by my Z today. Tried to take my thumb when i shut the door. Must be mad for not having been washed in the last week.

kenchan 09-13-2011 06:29 PM

Gotz the jnext. Opened up the package to ck content. Everything is in Japanese. Even the handwriting noting which bit goes where. :D. Quality is top notch, paint had two 0.5mm sink marks but other then that

So I packed it up and stored in my parts bin for when I might need it running aggressive offset. :p

Mine has welded as well. Looks like they went back to the welded design and let the tips stick out a little more after people first complained about it being too tucked and second complained the adjustable tips were too far out.

What pieces did you get Ken?

GaleForce 09-13-2011 09:38 PM

Today I took my Z for a 105 km round trip to the barber shop (I was testing the new Berk CBE and HFC). I really enjoy going to this barber shop. Just a couple of old Italian guys, both named Mario (no joke) who do things the old way. They still use the straight blades for shaving! that's my favourite. On the way home I got buzzed by the 370's big brother, a nice white GTR. First white one I've seen around here most are red.

Alchemy 09-13-2011 10:01 PM

What are these jnext pieces you speak of. Searched the net and found nada, zip, zilch.

tranceformer 09-13-2011 10:06 PM

my z sat in the parking lot... waiting to terrorize the streets another day.

FromG2Z 09-13-2011 10:55 PM

Alchemy, qd's are essentially a lubricant (some have glossing agents) used to lift mild to moderate amounts of dust/dirt from paint surfaces. For me, once rained on and driven in rain, not safe to use qd for fear of marring.

Had a more pleasant drive back home in Z today. Thankfully no idiot drivers. I enjoyed it very much and proceeded to be in such a good mood that i cooked the family dinner ;)

Enjoyed my day off with my ex (suprisingly :icon17:), she helped me take the chrome trim off my fenders, and I got some new tires for the zed. Then ended it with a stroll and relaxing view of Crystal Lake.

Drove her to work this morning. She is filthy! Probably won't get a bath tonight. I have been slammed this week. Maybe tomorrow evening. I have to get her ready for C&C this weekend...

Yep, no Z action for me today -- just work. Saturday, though -- Datsun Parts swap meet. I am going to try to offload some of my spare intake manifolds, SU carbs and a few rear bumpers. Mrs. (Dr. ) onzedge "suggested" I bring back less than I take with me. :icon17:
