Alchemy my recomendations would be based on your car. What is your car? sport/touring, base, sport? If you have the sport/touring I would do the cooler and sways. If you have base brakes I would go with the brake upgrade. All three mods would help. Good luck :ughdance:

The brakes are on my target list too. Oil cooler is perfect for the man who stays in second gear around the course. It is my first mod and highly recommended. Sways are inexpensive for the gain. I love the rock solid feeling.

I want to find an auto cross event around here. I am sure they exist.

Good on you for going "D".

Fire 09-26-2011 09:35 AM

Mt I'm sure they do. Just do an online search of SCCA.

Alchemy 09-26-2011 09:40 AM

Thanks for the input everyone:tup:
Luna, my car def isnt winning any shows, esp w the rock chips on my nose. Its a performer not a beauty queen:tup:

Red, I figured the oil cooler wasnt necessary for the Dragon, its just something I feel I should do :icon17:

Im very interested in sways cause itll finish up my suspension work. Anybody here running sways? If so which ones and impressions?? Im kinda leaning toward Whitelines.

Red__Zed 09-26-2011 09:45 AM

Eibach and stillen are tops for street use.

My personal take on the cooler is wait as long as you can, so if something goes wrong, there's less for Nissan to point at.

kenchan 09-26-2011 09:59 AM

I run the Hotchkis with the rears on the medium setting. They made the biggest single difference of my modifications.

Yeah I hear sways make a huge difference. Most say the Hotchkis are more for track use. I guess you beg to differ? How many settings are on the front of those??

The problem with the hotchkis is the front is way too stiff relative to the rear. You dial in ever more understeer than the car has from the factory...

To compensate, most guys wind up running 3* or so of camber up front, which you won't want to do on a street car.

SPOHN 09-26-2011 12:34 PM

Wrote a review on my track day and did an inspection on my car today.

oh, you're talking about lug nuts? :icon17: yes, im currently running muteki SR48's on my Weds. Wheelmate product (JDM) but made in Taiwan (:ugh2:).

the Titeks (on sale) are great lugs. i just needed steel ones as im currently running spacers without longer studs. i have the full 10mm thread area even with the 5mm spacers behind the Weds per recommendation by Muteki so im good.

I am beginning to wonder about you guys and your nut-fascination today. Hmmm....

ZForce 09-26-2011 03:16 PM

Just signed up for Chin Motorsports membership. Now I can track a hole lot more with several tracks they offer several times a year at that. Most are two day events.

Quick question guys. Im gonna start a few projects to get ready for ZDAYZ. Good excuse for more mods right? I have 3 things in mind but only have the cash to commit to two before she goes away for the winter. Choice numero uno, front & rear sways. Numero dos, cross drilled rotors w/ upgraded pads & brake lines. Numero tres, oil cooler. I fig I should def do the oil cooler although Id RATHER get choice 1 &2. Thoughts?? Also thoughts/opinions on oil catch cans. Worth it?

hmm, well, if you are only planning on street driving, no track time, then cross drilled rotors are fine, but they are more suseptible to cracking if you start tracking your car so I'd recommend slotted, j hook, or even just smooth (like oem) rotors instead.

I'd do lines/pads/fluid and stay on stock rotors till they're done, upgrade the sways and if you ever plan on tracking the car, add an oil cooler.

I installed StopTech slotted rotors, Hawk HPS pads, Goodridge SS lines and Ate fluid a few months ago (maybe longer) and it made a huge difference in pedal feel, responsiveness and stopping capability. For what it is worth...

I do not track the 370 as I have a bit of a "fitting in the car with a helmet on" issue. I do, however, drive in a "spirited" manner most of the time (when traffic and weather conditions allow, of course). BTW: I have no such problem in my 240.

This is exactally what I think Im gonna do actually. I was thinking today that I should run my stock rotors down before blowin money on new ones. I do hope to track the car, at least a few times, eventually.
