kenchan 08-23-2011 09:53 AM

rain today... at least it's not storming.. just steady rain for 2-3hrs maybe.

hope it stops raining before evening cause i need to pickup my kids and dont want to dirty up the rear carpeting (dont worry, we're talking the G)... :icon14: although it would be a nice excuse to get new berber mats. :p

FromG2Z 08-23-2011 10:49 AM

Happy sorry to hear of hurricane. U guys going away and taking the z to safety too?

No z for me today as it is pouring here. However, last night drove her to softball as we won the championship Hehe.

Haha, that is my excuse for not using the Z to do errands and stuff.

Fire 08-23-2011 12:48 PM

Happy stay safe. I'm not ordering a Hello Kitty sticker any time soon LOL. Ken I take my Z only when I know that what I need to pick up is small enough to fit in the "trunk". Not much room there as my detail stuff and one or two chairs in a bag are always in it. Congrats for the chapionship From, I no longer play softball as I suffered a career ending finger injury a few years back. I shattered my ring finger on my right hand fielding a throw from the outfield.:shakes head: Amazing that I played rugby for 4 years in the Marines and have been a volunteer firefighter for almost 20 years, skiing for 20 years and never a broken bone until softball. Who knew it was sooo dangerous LOL:icon14:

Just felt an earthquake. Felt like a gentle rollers on a fishing boat. I'm in Western NY. Looks like it was a 5.8 in Virginia.

kenchan 08-23-2011 01:09 PM

yah, i just read about that, fire. hope everyone's okay... :icon14:

Fire 08-23-2011 01:15 PM

Not much info yet it seems it was in a rural area of Virginia.

5.8 is good size. I hope the damage is little and injuries none.

Extended and mild is the word I've heard. Centered by my old office :ugh2:

That is almost unavoidable at the track unfortunately, I think I would swallow my pride and use some blue painters tape to cover the front bumper and side skirts if I ever get to do a track day.

Dang that is hardcore, fire. From softball? Yeah hopefully I can continue to play this game and detail and drive my Z.

Fire 08-23-2011 01:28 PM

From I was off work for 3 weeks. No surgery just a splint.

kenchan 08-23-2011 01:36 PM

i was playing softball when i was a kid with my buddies and one of the older kids hit a super fast drive and it came right at me. for a split second i thought about catching it but decided it wasn't worth it and called for a time-out and we all went inside for a drink while the fat kid who hit the ball went far out in the field to go fetch his prize. :icon17:

FromG2Z 08-23-2011 01:40 PM

Sounds like we need a softball thread next LOL.

Christian forgot to say that as far as chips from turn track, that's why there's clear bra ;)

kenchan 08-23-2011 01:43 PM

..and painter's tape for track events. :D

Fire 08-23-2011 01:45 PM

Always comes down to the fat kid LOL As for the chips I have a couple and they are proof that we drive our cars. I did get a pretty large one the other day when I was behind a semi hauling wood chips one came off and hit the hood.:shakes head:

FromG2Z 08-23-2011 01:49 PM

Eeeeek... All these stories of chips. U guys make me shudder. Of the things I hate the most, chips is one, swirls are two, and dirt/dust is three ;)

kenchan 08-23-2011 01:51 PM

yah, i have one pretty deep sesame seed indent on my bumper too. i will fix later. :crying:
actually im waiting on picts for members trying drcolorchip. :D

Fire 08-23-2011 01:52 PM

Luckily no dent just a chip.

Nick911sc 08-23-2011 01:54 PM

I was driving down the road a few days after getting my Z and an acorn fell and dented my hood...Then I started getting rock chips from the constant construction on the drive to my g/f's house on the parkway.

Sigh

98intrigue 08-23-2011 01:57 PM

Fire, funny you mention your injury from softball. I played soccer for 5 years, baseball for 11 years, played intense pickup 12-12 tackle football games in high school for 2 years, and I was never injured until I severely rolled my ankle twice in intramural flag football in college. Then playing softball last summer, I pulled my hamstring while diving for home plate. Who knew non-contact sports could be so dangerous, haha.

Red__Zed 08-23-2011 01:57 PM

Eggcorn?

kenchan 08-23-2011 02:01 PM

my previous hobby car got hit by an apple while driving under a tree.

it had a good dent in the hood at 45mph... and the apple splashed onto the front glass. i was happy the glass did not crack. the dent took me nearly 4hours to push out.

Fire 08-23-2011 02:02 PM

oh yah, i was pedaling around over the weekend putting more thought into the stock feel and i still think the clutch feel (while linear) feels fine. it's the throttle lag + faster spindown from light flywheel vs my G that's throwing me off when i first get in the Z on Sat mornings.

my clutch work has always been pretty linear, almost never feather the clutch unless im crawling in bumper to bumper.

i think im fine with the Z's clutch for now. thanks for the offer though.
