It is night and day. It feels very solid and I can more easily tell the engagement -- like a real clutch. Best 15 bucks I have ever spent on the 370z. If yiu have not made this mod, you must.

Red__Zed 08-14-2011 05:25 PM

we should get another group buy going I guess. I don't have time to coordinate though.

Huh, I've not done this yet. I better check the DIY section (?).

Alchemy- lol, I was thinking about plasti-dip my RC stuff too to use the remaining can. :D

But I will do it on my neighbor's lawn. :stirthepot: ;)

Oh yah, forgot to mention.... while out on my drive this am in my Z, I scared my droidx when I did a launch from zero. It flew out of my pocket and slipped under the seat rails. :D sometimes I like to remind myself I'm motoring a sports car. :icon17:

SPOHN 08-14-2011 06:40 PM

The clutch spring mod is golden. I couldn't never imagine going back.

Would love to have the part number so I can hunt it down. U briefly looked at the linked threads, but didn't see one and I'm feeling a little too lazy to read through 22 pages to glean that magical bit of info. Can someone spoon feed the part number to me pwease?

BeachZTT 08-14-2011 09:35 PM

Here is the link provided by the OP of the first group buy. Looks like someone will have to do another...

Lee Springs

happytheman 08-14-2011 09:39 PM

Yah, I def think another group buy is in order in light of the initial $20 shipping charges. You want to head up that effort Beach?

Yep, installed the spring last week. Feels good. Smoother shifting for sure. Does this work for the 350z too?

kenchan 08-14-2011 10:33 PM

without the larger oem spring would having just the piston and small oem spring help support the lateral play (left/right) of the pedal?

i have a feeling you dont really need the larger spring, just the piston. someone in the G forum went the other way and got stiffer springs as the 03-04 G35C's have a heavy clutch. ive gotten use to mine.

FromG2Z 08-14-2011 11:33 PM

Hmmm I might have to look into this clutch helper spring.... however, I find no issue with the OEM clutch/spring as it is.

Red, nice new meats. Are those Toyo Proxes T1R?

Took her for a drive tonight. Couldn't believe the number of folks craning their necks to see the Z. Was at a stop light, turning left... car on the right most lane has folks peering through their windows and pointing. Then further down the road, a family in their Jeep Wrangler looks and smiles... Driving the Z for in it of itself never gets old, then add to it the props folks give you? Priceless.

Also stopped and saw a great spot to take this pic.

^Beautiful G2Z, I give you props for always keeping your car very clean! Just got back home after being in South Carolina moving my little bro into University of South Carolina, first thing I did was go to the garage to check the Z haha.

Just wiped it down as usual with some QD and will drive over to pick up my dad's RX400h from the body shop tomorrow AM. In the afternoon, I will pick up a few gallons of 110 octane race gas. :)

Nurburgr1ng 08-15-2011 01:18 AM

Played 9 holes at the local course this morning and shot a 43 which isn't great but my personal best. managed to fit my clubs just fine in the Z and got several compliments at the clubhouse

SPOHN 08-15-2011 09:17 AM

Plotting my next mod. I'm going to get a power steering cooler and I want a gauge scan to monitor my OBD. Hoping Z1 will have both on sale at the Nationals. Hint hint.

kenchan 08-15-2011 09:20 AM

SPOHN- what do you think about those BT wireless OBD2 transmitters + app for your handheld? :) i was thinking about getting one just for kicks down the road.

FromG2Z 08-15-2011 10:13 AM

Nurb nice pics. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks Christian... yeah, I'm proudly OCD :) Detailing is in my veins... How does 110 gas affect the Z? It won't hurt it will it?

Thanks for the props guys, I appreciate it.

Today I drove Zena to the gym at 5:30, then onto work. I lowered the windows, felt the brisk 65 degree zero humidity air, and listened to my Invidia Gemini crescendo, as it sang its chorus with Nissan's VQ.... music to my ears. I then parked it at work, craning my neck to see her for those last few moments...all the way to the guard entrance. I love my Z. Nothing like starting out my day like that, ready to face yet another stress filled day and week :ugh2:

wow, sounds like a perfect motoring day. sounds refreshing. :)

the good about selling my other FitSport and using my G as my dd is that i get to enjoy driving each day... and it was nice out this am too. :p i did hear a skid/crash somewhere behind me. im happy it wasnt my car. i would get too pissed if one rear ended me cause we already have plenty of stupid in my commute.... the same folks we see at the DMV. :wtf2:

onzedge 08-15-2011 10:30 AM

Alas, the 370 and the 240 are all clean and covered -- sitting at home. Onsite client work later today compelled me to take the wife's Echo while she is working from home.
