My Evo r GT wing crash by its downforce during high speed

It seems that these wings are for looks and not function. Maybe they should have a sticker on them saying this? :-) Oh, and also put on the sticker that

Oh, and also put on the sticker that in California it has been determined that they produce cancer.

Well maybe it serves some function below a certain threshold. Throwing a big deck a foot or two above hatch, we can assume it does generate some downforce (and hopefully not lifting force), otherwise it wouldn’t have snapped like that. But for darn sure there ain’t no real stress test done on it, to guarantee functionality and safety.

Should be a warning sticker out back “follow me at your own risk”.

OP, best of luck. Time to invest in some real deal wings.

The APR wings were used on the Pirelli World Cup Challenge Z cars with the supports mounted to the chassis, not the hatch. What they found was that if mounted to the hatch. At speed, the hatch would bend. Causing the wing to bend and crack, then break.

It's one of the best. BUT you have to make your own uprights. The uprights that I've seen on the cup cars goes through the hatch and mount to the chassis.

Here's a thread you should read.

If you add aero in the rear. You have to add aero in the front. You have to change your spring rates to suit. You have to balance out the car. It's not simple. On the rear wing. A half of a degree in attack angle can make a big difference in how a car handles. 2 degrees and you could stall the wing out and just have it act like a big parachute.
