It was good to see the Z included in the article. I agree with others that they should have used a sport model at least if not the nismo. The type r is as loaded as you can get.

The thing I have noticed, with getting the 3 major car magazines every month for many years, is that the 'winner' of any shootout, comparo, etc is Always the new entry. It is more like a pr piece for the manufacturer of the just released model. That said I do love the type r and was going to consider that before buying the 2016 nismo a few weeks ago. I didn't like that it was a 4 cylinder turbo and minimum of $34K plus not available as a coupe. Very nice car, just not for me.

That's exactly it. In 6 months there will be another test with the Type R coming in third to the two newer models. Car magazines don't compare anything, they just pump whatever car manufacturer writes the biggest check.
