Oh hell -- so you installed a different fuel pump and it failed???

Is it a walboro? Those are notorious for failing rubber seals that cause a loss in pressure -- the good news is, it's usually an easy fix if you don't mind rooting around in raw fuel...

The low power numbers may or may not be reflective of impending fuel pump failure unless there is evidence that it was skewing way lean under load -- you know how it is with load holding dynos.

Once you get this sorted out, I'd just get a baseline on a dynojet which should give more easily interpretable values.

Well, either way -- good luck! Hope this gets fixed ASAP!

It was the stock pump. The assembly was modified and there were some parts still on there from the failed fuel pump install. It basically stopped any hopes of a warranty taking care of it. After the wifey cools off with this last round of fails, I'm going to try again. It may not be until September though.

Thanks for the support. I'll be fine. Just have to try to reinstall that RRP some other time. Anderson Nissan got back and they are getting an estimate on the repair from a local body shop. I finally got my old warranty checks from my other cars, so that covered the bill. Now back to packing my house.

Soooo, just an FYI. I went and got my oil changed today. It was supposed to be all paid for by my MPP platinmum coverage service package. After arguing with the service shop the technicalities of what's recommended, what's required and MPP listing that they do what Nissan recommends, I had to fork over an extra $80 to upgrade to the ester oil. Irritated, I called MPP and asked them to clarify what "recommended" means to them. Recommended is considered what Nissan requires, not recommends. Now after that he says that they will do the ester upgrade at the recommended intervals of 6 months or 7500 miles.

The dealership did the oil change as a complimentary one on the house, but with the upgrade charge. IF I had known all this before, I would have told them to call MPP and get me going on the ester intervals.

I swear, idk wtf is going on with this car. I was driving through death valley as I detoured from my normal boring drive to Reno and a piece of my undertray comes loose and starts making this terrible sound as it scrapes across the pavement. It just so happens I brought it to the stealership to have my oil changed a few days prior. Absolutely irritating.

I was hoping you be lucky enough to stay out west. You are gonna have to find a winter beater and put your baby in hibernation!

Look up RT Tuning. They're just outside of Philly,

Philly, "The city of brothers on drugs"! as what we call it over here on the west side of the state. Remember, between Philly and Pittsburgh. You have Pennsytucky.

Well, I tackled the AEM intake install. Hotrodz was awesome enough to give me his old set! I admit to being a bit nervous doing it myself and took my time with it. It took me a solid six hours. I was missing the new harness for the windshield washer pump so that's not working, I also had to use the filler neck to recut some new pieces for the breather tube on the driver side. The stuff was splitting on my first cut, so I had to use more than I wanted. The driver side bottom hanger and end of the tube were bent out of shape so I was wrestling to straighten both of those out as well. The reservoir is mounted and ready to go when I get a replacement harness in. For some reason one of the tubes were missing the AEM sticker. So after triple checking my handiwork, I ziptied odds and ends down and put it back together. I turned it on before buttoning up the front end and rev'd her a few times to see of the maf's were happy, if the engine sounded fine and for any vibrations. Everything sounded normal so I turned her off and finished putting everything back together. I do want to point out that the AC line is very close to the driver intake tube. I ensured the tube was tight in its mounting points and pulled the line away just enough to have 1/4" of clearance. After I cleaned everything up, I drove it a couple miles down the road to meet my wife for the games and everything ran like a champ. I still need to put in some good miles on it to check for any stumbling, throttle latency, and any other unwanted symptoms. I think I can finally start a new build thread for my new car. Next project is hopefully exhaust and oil cooler. If I blast through those just fine, I'll attempt to install the RRP myself. Anyways, a few pics of my handiwork.

Hotrodz likes this.
