I went looking for 22lr after I picked up my new rifle. I checked 3 different walmarts, all they had left were maximags. No thanks. I went to Gander mountain and scored some minimags and winchester super-x.

Closest GANDER is almost two hours from me!

Does anybody have any experience with the FN F2000? I've held one before but never had the chance to fire it. I'm thinking I may buy one when I get back home to WA next year. Being prior military, I'm sorta burnt out on AR-15/M4 rifles and just looking for something different.

Xplicit97 12-29-2012 02:54 AM

Better hurry if these new ban go into effect.. WA gun prices are severely skyrocketing in the anticipation of the new ban being proposed by a certain CA senator...

Yeah, I'm a little nervous about that. I'm in Texas at the moment and won't be back home till March/April time frame of next year. I hope I'm not to late :shakes head:.

Robert_K 12-29-2012 04:11 AM

I'm going to be pissed if they banned my order because I don't "possess" it.

Xplicit97 12-29-2012 08:42 PM

All depends how fast this new ban bill gets shoved down our throats, hopefully things move as slow in dc with this as they do for everything else

Assuming that it gets passed at all. Over the last 8-10 years (well, since the sunset of the previous AWB), AR15's and their counterparts have become by far the most popular category of sporting rifle ever made. Couple that with the Congressional political consequences of the 1994 AWB (Republican landslide), the vastly greater number of AR15's out there, and the American public's traditionally short attention span relative to the recent tragedy in Newtown...I'm not sure we'll see an AWB of any kind. Maybe a magazine ban.

The problem that they're having is that it's harder to sustain an emotional argument. Eventually, the facts of the situation just keep popping up. It would be an easier sell if anyone could in any way demonstrate that there was a positive effect of the 1994 AWB, but there's nothing.

i figure something will get passed.
If they pass the high cap mag well it doesn't matter to us cali folks cause we r used to it.

tvfreakazoid 12-31-2012 05:23 AM

I really wanted to buy the one on the right. In cali it's not approved. But there is a way around getting them by doing a single shot conversion. But i have to find an ffl that can do it, but also they charge about $100 or more unfortunately :shakes head:

Hi everyone,
Since I don't allow political posts in my forum, please don't post any political post here in this thread. I really don't want to close this thread. You guys can keep it on topic by discussing :~ discussion about what guns you have or trying to get, your gun pics, how to clean them, rating/reviews on guns etc. Please refrain from posting any political post(s) related to guns. Just a friendly warning. I rather not close a 67 page thread over some political posts.

Thank you!

I WISH I had more experience...
I shot it ONCE...
I loved it, recoil was REALLY low, and even though it looks like it came out of Halo, I enjoyed holding it, felt really good

Also the cartridges eject out the front in an organized fashion. So it's nice if you reload! (Trippy part is that you can shoot 5(?) rounds before it opens the hatch thing to let them drop out)

If you buy one and I'm in whatever area you may be, can I come over and shoot it? Lol

  • Require background checks on ALL purchases (i.e. ban private party sales)
  • Ban "Assault Rifles," potentially with no grandfathering.
  • Limit magazine capacity for all semi-auto firearms to 10 rounds with no grandfathering of existing "hi cap" mags
  • Heavily restrict transport outside the home... no concealed carry?

The last one... maybe not. But I think the AR ban, closing the "gun show loophole," and limiting magazine capacity.

Of course they'll completely overlook the real problem, which is mental health.

I don't necessarily have a problem with requiring an FFL to broker private party sales as long as there is a reasonable maximum brokerage fee that they can charge. This would prevent law abiding gun owners from unknowingly selling to criminals.

I think mental health records should be better integrated in the background check process. It could help prevent future VT and Aurora type events where the shooter had a clear mental health issue that should have made them ineligible for firearm ownership.

I think they will make every sale required to go through an FFL and maybe ban hi cap mags.
It's not a solution... Whatever...

I'd be ok with a few things happening...
I get my gun license from a phychologist, has to be renewed every year, costs $200... (I will get flamed for that, but lets be real, if you like guns, it ain't gonna stop you, and MAYBE, just MAYBE it will prevent an innocent life from getting lost)
Then if your weapon is used by another in your family, which you should have known has mental issues but you didn't take the proper precautions to hide or disable use of them from that person, you get charged with every crime they committed... That will hopefully scare people who are lazy straight as to how to keep guns in the home?

We might get some really wacky ideas too... like banning the .223/5.56 round. Apparently this idea has been thrown around by the Violence Policy Center. Show's how much they know about firearms. I'm quite sure my 7mm Mauser is more powerful. :|

So is my 7mm mag... And my other 7mm mag... And my other 7mm mag... And my .30-06, and my other .30-06, and my other .30-06, and my shotgun, and my other shotgun... And the other one, and the other one, and actually the other one, LOL!!!
The problem is that people see ONE issue

Also, we'll most certainly get some sort of ammo restrictions...

Online sales ban?

Sales only through FFL with background check?

Purchases over a certain number of rounds reported to government?

I could see online sales ban, maybe over a certain number reported... All I know is that I used to go to Walmart at 2AM and buy... $500 of ammo, sometimes more (insomnia) and now they stop me at 10PM, and they tried implementing the keeping track of bullets sold thing here in CA and it lasted... A day, 10 minutes?

This is a gun toting country, we love our guns, and you need bullets to use them. I am very fortunate to have a reloader just in case the ish hits the fan, but I can't see them really keeping track or caring after a while

The issue is for some of us in other states like CA that get SHAFTED... Private party, $50, buy a gun from out of state... $150+

Dear AK, I hope this wasn't political... I didn't intend it to be...
If it was, please PM me on how to edit it, or please edit it and PM me as to how I can avoid being political

As gun people we are all being handed the crappy end of the stick soon, and we all like to speculate, lol

Awesome. I've seen some Youtube videos and it looks like the expended brass just sorta... poops out.. lol. Almost everybody I work with owns an AR-15 and they are always asking me why not just get something battle proven. (Everybody in my department is prior/retired military, so I get a lot of bias opinions). What can I say, I like the "cool guy" guns. Fs2000, FN P90, Kriss super V, H&K MP7... and then of course the guns that I'm used to that aren't exactly legal .

Also I have a major broner for a .338 lapua because I'm that keep up with the jones's type.

And it took three shots from my .300 win mag to take down the last bear i got.

Robert_K 12-31-2012 12:33 PM

Rooster... I agree with you on the .308 but your avatar makes me vomit. GOD I HATE the crygirls.

I just want to say, I'm really angry with the price gouging going on!!! We are supposed to support our favorite companies in crisis. Yet they are gouging the shyt out of us. It's highly unfair.
I ordered an adcor defense upper that would take about 6 or 9 months to receive. I'm like ok. Put a 10% deposit on what was supposed to be $1,190 + tax. Well I get a call saying they can't honor that price due to the day I placed my order, there was some type of reset and my order was processed after that time. That same upper will be $1,604. I freaked. Thats an increase of $414, tax not included.
The dealer showed me it wasn't him. It was the company. He says he can direct me to a quality upper from Adams arms that would be comparable to what I want. He says the wait might be a little shorter with the Adams. i told him I'll sleep on it.

I need a new plan. This was a fun hobby till 3 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

m4a1mustang 01-02-2013 09:13 AM

Yeah it's very frustrating. I'm not adding anything to my collection at the moment. I think the prices are ridiculously unreasonable.
