Thanks Import!!! Daniel Defense fit the bill, looked at the website and availability. No carbine 6.8 available, only mid-length. But I will purchase the mid-length and buy 16" barrel later. Personally, i prefer a mid length piston system on a carbine barrel. It adds a couple oz to the gun up front but reduces recoil and marks for a more accruate AR.

I really wanted the Adcor based on i really find use with the forward charging handle. But I'd rather support a company that understands the market they are in and the importance of preserving our gun heritage and not just motivated by taking advantage of a certain political climate in which we aren't alllowed to discuss.

DDM4 4 me.

Looks awesome. I build my own lowers myself. I just never built an upper. That magpul enhanced trigger guard is my personal preference as well. I'm waiting on one i ordered through amazon. Did you build your upper?

critic 01-04-2013 09:13 AM

Thanks. Actually I didnt build the upper I lucked out and found a completed one at cheaper than dirt before their entire store was wiped.

I'll let you know in the morning when or if I find out specifics. I usually drive up to the high desert, but a coworker is setting this range meet up at that range and I've never been and he hit me up about it. Either way I already planned on going shooting on Sunday morning to re-zero my rifle.

Wouldn't worry too much about that. This thread bounces back and forth about a bunch of random gun $h!t anyways since we can't talk about the current gun politics. lol. You'll hear from me in the AM. I'm about to pass out.

Just bought a colt ar with the removable handle. Want to use something other than the factory sights. Can someone recommend a sight for plinking that wont break the bank. I would also like to mount a light somewhere for home defense. Can someone recommend a picatiny style handguard to replace the stocker. Sorry for the basic questions, this is my first rifle.

m4a1mustang 01-10-2013 07:51 AM

Look at the Vortex line of red dots. They are likely not going to hold up to heavy abuse but should be fine for plinking and probably adequate for HD if you keep them sighted in.

Check out Primary Arms. They sell a line of Chinese imports. They're not known for their rugged durability or reliability, but they're probably as good as any other such sub-$200 RDS and as a cheap plinking sight they're usable.

Burris xts-135 will hold ZERO to firing my ak47 firing off of a shoulder bump fire stock. Shockproof, fogproof and water resistant. $250, best value on market.

Has red rainbow on right corner when you first get it. It needs to be mounted and zeroed properly. Once zeroed its perfect. You cant beat its accuracy and durability for the price.

I checked optics planet. It's $439 vs $248 for the Burris. For the budget conscious. I think the Burris won't disappoint.
I'm not expecting any serious work or shooting outside of 250 meters with my AK. When i get my 6.8 though, i'm throwing an 4x/ACOG on it.

Haha, I saw the new 'vette, liked what I saw, but am not buying another car until I have built a house. Probably pick up a CPO in 3-4 years. BTDT with the "new car" thing, now.

So I am going to buy another .40 S&W and am eyeing a Glock 22. I am also considering a Beretta because I am not overly fond of stiker fired handguns. Considering that I already have 4 H&K polymer pistols would anyone recommend a Beretta?

Here's a video message posted today from Sheri at Noveske about their participation at SHOT 2013. If you've ever dealt with Noveske Rifleworks, you've dealt with Sheri. She rocks, in the extreme.

List of Executive Orders relative to immediate implementation. Nothing radical here, the president elected to stay within the legal guidelines that executive action imposes. The meat of the issue of 2nd Amendment rights will be legislative, not executive.

Fight's back on, boys. Write your legislators to express your opinion. If you feel strongly about the 2nd Amendment, join the NRA or send them money. (I realize not everyone feels that the NRA is our best representative, but like it or not, they are at the tip of this particular arrow).

Don't forget to keep an eye on your state's legislative body.

Quote:

Executive Orders:

1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system.

2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system.

3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system.

4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks.

5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun.

6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers.

7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign.

8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission).

9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations.

10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement.

11. Nominate an ATF director.

12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations.

13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime.

14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence.

15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers.

19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education.

20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover.

21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges.

22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations.

23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health.
