I thought I had it down pat. But I was wrong. I was mislead on purpose I believe. You want to make power out of the intake. Take it off. Turn it upside down. Inside you will see some squares/ outlines inside the intake track. That section needs to be ported and smoothed out.

I have a spare intake and I am planning on investigating having the plenum and runners modified to increase flow on the top end. My last dyno definitely points to a plain and simple flow limit.

You want these .................... but will only fit with the HR head conversion ...

Nissan VQ 3.5L - SF Taper throttle body kit - Jenvey Dynamics

I have these TB on my race car engine with air flowing straight at the inlet valve and they support air-flow to deliver 600hp (NA, @ crank).

Hmm are you talking about the inset grooves? Aren't those for the o-ring?

Or are you talking about something else?

Sneaky mofos! That makes sense. I'll see if I can't find another intake mani and play with it. It can't hurt to smooth it out a bit anyway. Any better pictures?
