Had my Check Engine Light come on today. My set-up is resonated Test Pipes with 18" resonated TDX exhaust. I had the whole system installed about 2 weeks ago. I reset the ECU (by disconnecting the battery), and it appears to have turned off. Hopefully it stays off.

My order was delivered around noon today! The wait is finally over. #1155

Has anyone recently been billed for their exhaust? I'm curious to know what system we are up to now.

I've read that after some time the sound quiets down about 5-10% (to the liking of most). Have you noticed that? |

to solve this problem, I removed the mufflers :tiphat: |

hi everyone which is the best selling exhaust. the 12" non-reso CF or the 18" reso CF?
|

However, it really varies because many of them also had HFC or headers, so it seemed like adding modifications affected the reso they went with. Unfortunately for me living in California, any changes to the cats are illegal, so I went with non-res SS to get the best bang for my buck. |
Does anyone have some really good quality videos of the 3 options, non-res, 12" and 18". I have watched countless videos online from cell phones, or a decent digital camera. Anyone have links to a near professional video/sound quality. I feel like I'm at a point where they all the videos sound the same. I do have a crystal clear understanding of the differences in theory. Ideally the bet way to find out is hearing them in person.
Fast Intentions or anyone else in SoCal, might be a long shot, but do you have 3 Z's you can hear in person? (option 1) (option 2) There is a SoCal Z rally up Angels Crest May 31st. Anyone gonna be there with FI CBE? Thanks, Ben |
Would like to purchase an 18" cbe with hfc. How much would it be shipped to 02118?

i was in your shoes about a year ago. looking at all the videos and reviews i could. tony helped me make up my mind. he asked how do you think your car is now as far as sound? i felt is was way to quiet so he suggested non res. i was leaning that way anyways. i've never regretted that decision. ill admit after it was installed and i fired up my car the first time it was a bit overwhelming. just cause i had a real exhaust. i love it. i also went with the carbon fiber and happy i did. i just traded my car for a 2015 nismo. i couldnt believe how quiet is was even with the nismo exhaust on it. i had to wait a week before i got my F.I swapped over. that entire week it sounded like i was driving a prius!:roflpuke2: |

I have spoken to Kevin who is AWESOME! he helped explain it all to me. I am just OCD and super anal about my Z's and want to be sure the dB and note is exactly what I like. |

the SS or CF mufflers will alter the overall sound/tone also any change of oem cats to HFC, TP, RTP, RHFC will also change the sound/tone and the less restrictive versions will also increase volume. the resonator sizes don't change the volume all that much but more or less will smooth out the tone and reduce cabin noise. also i'm sure tony and the guys you've spoken to have said all this lol just figured i'd throw it out there for others as well. if you want the FI sound and lower volume I would suggest SS cans for a deeper tone and CF cans for a more exotic tone. personally I prefer the CF. if you're not a fan of hearing the drone of the exhaust then 18" will work for you maybe even 12". you want to get the amazing power gains maximized then throw them stock cats away and get HFC. little extra volume and little extra power. in the end it's best to just do your research and ask many questions. :tiphat: you honestly cannot go wrong with FI. |

Therefore our purr is somewhat restricted. |

no cats for me. :tiphat: |
18 is plenty loud and just under the legal dB level. I am not disappointed with mine. Even 18 turns heads.

any variation of this system sounds absolutely amazing. 100% fact. little tweaks to your choice in set-up is all just personal preference. |

Thank you and thanks everyone. I think 18" is the best way to go (for me at least) |

When you call to place your order, find out what exhaust system # they are building at the moment. Many of us are anxious to know :tiphat: |

I ordered non-res CBE and will be keeping stock cats so I'm curious to know how that would sound. |
Just paid my balance for my FI exhaust. #1166 shipping today. Unfortunately it's not mine. :shakes head:

I give everyone props for waiting so long. I know when i order mine im am going to be obsessing over when mine will be ready... Has to be tough especially when other vendors can get you one same day. Def speaks well to FI reputation and respect in the Z community.
Worth the wait :) |
Order # 1200 LOL
|
I have an email in to FI to replace the rear section of my exhaust since I ruined it and will pick up LTH while I'm at it. As long as I can have them in hand by late July I'm happy. I do remember the wait, it was tough but sooooo worth it!!!
|
If anyone wants a brand new one (in the box), non-res without the wait.
