The exhaust is on....

It sounds really good.....

But has anybody had this problem & if so what did you do?

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...874b6251d5.jpg

There's a lot of bend in the drivers side pipe and it makes everything crooked on one side.

http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/14...21fe01d07b.jpg

The passengers side is perfect but we tried to shim it to make it match the imperfect drivers side but no amount of shimming could give me matching imperfection. Plus I'm a perfectionist so it bothers me.

You can loosen ur bolts up and try to adjust at the hangers then try to tighten back. Even though you made ur x pipe level, adjustments affect everything from the cat back, so u just have to play with it.

FI makes a quality product so I'm sure there is an adjustment u can make to get it right. Good luck.

Stssjester 10-11-2014 10:56 PM

Speaking of quality. I had my high flow cats installed today. The gentleman installing them said that this is the best built exhaust/cat fitment he has ever seen. And I tell you what, that whole exhaust is amazing! My BUTT Dyno sure did feel a hell of a difference without an actual dyno yet!

My tips are pushed to the outside as yours but I didn't notice the muffler pipes out of whack. I'll take a closer look when I install the system again. My Z is sidelined for a few weeks until I get a non-res x-pipe.

My new setup

Hey guys,
Just had my Fast Intentions catback and test pipes (both non-res) put on. I'm also running the K&N Typhoon intake.

Check out the vid!
My 370z Fast Intentions CBE+TP+K&N

I'm runnin' 285 Michelin Super Sports in the back, and she's squirrely as ever! I turn heads just about everywhere I go. Comment on the video if you have anymore questions :).

Cheers,
CC

That's right! I was standing right there for the entire exhaust competition. Looking forward to #ZDayZ2015. Let's do it bigger and better than this past year.

Out of curiosity, about how many of these systems do you guys pump out a week?

On average, we build and ship 6-7 Nissan/Infiniti exhaust systems per week. Everything is built on a first come, first serve basis VQ wide. That covers, 350/370/G35/G37/G Sedan.

Got my exhaust (1037) installed on Friday at R/T Tuning. Really can't add much to what has already been said about the quality and sound of the exhaust. It's incredible, as is the customer service from F.I.

The guys at R/T Tuning are a cool, professional group as well.

Received Order #1028 on 10/8, Installed on Friday, 10/17 by SoulSpeed Performance here in Austin. Can not say enough great things about SoulSpeed and Fast Intentions. Very happy repeat customer. I had order #178 on my 09 Z, loved it! SoulSpeed also did a great job on that install. The new Z has an 18" CF Fast Intentions and it sounds the way the Z should have sounded from the factory.

First rate quality and sound...

Guys at SoulSpeed are meticulous and do great work!

Austex, great looking exhaust and a great pic of the under carriage.

Spooler 10-23-2014 10:29 PM

Quick question. Where the exhaust if welded together at the mid-pipe. Do you drill/cut a hole between both bank like an H-pipe?

Stssjester 10-23-2014 11:04 PM

No drilling/cutting necessary. This is a complete out of the box install. SERIOUSLY EASY AS WELL! MAD DAPS TO TONY FOR AN AMAZING PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!

If I'm understanding your question correctly: Yes, the area where the two tubes are welded together is completely opened up to allow passage from one exhaust bank to the other. We utilize this X Pipe technology over a traditional H Pipe designs because it is much more efficient at balancing exhaust pulses between the left and right bank throughout the entire RPM range. This more efficient range of scavenging leads to more power and torque.

No cutting or welding is done by the customer. All of our TDX Cat Back Exhausts are ready to bolt on straight out of the box with simple hand tools. I hope this answers your question.

#1038 Installed

Outstanding fitment, no shimming was necessary.

Installation was extremely easy took about 1.5 hours, only bump I ran into was removing the evap canister cover. After a couple beers and 5 minutes of looking at it- I realized that my 2014 sport didn't have one lol.

My Z FINALLY sounds like its supposed to!

Thanks to everyone at F.I I will be a returning customer for sure.

My 2012 base+sport didn't have the heat shield for the evap canister either. I wonder which years came with them.

There is an oval cut out in the X pipes, approximately 3"x1.5".

sorry, im really new to Z's and exhaust system, i have one quick question, i live in socal, i was wondering if this exhaust legal in CA? i have the greedy cold air intakes, with stock exhaust. with this exhaust will be too loud ? im really looking for something thats really makes decent sound. sooooorry >.<

cooltoy 10-27-2014 07:44 PM

Well since FI is based in California, I would figure that they would make an exhaust that would be legal in their state, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like you would want 18" res.

Where do you live at? I am in San Diego and have a non resonated Carbon Fiber catback exhaust with high flow cats (im registered in texas) if you are local, I can let you listen to it.

Lol I was complimented by a cop here in Northridge, CA. Probably from the same precinct where another officer stopped next to me and questioned me about my missing front plates.

I will be in the market next year for a NR set. Can hardly hear to car stock.
