im curious why fast intentions doesn't make more exhausts in general when the demand is obviously there?

if you made enough to surpass the orders you could always slow down with a curve as the demand lessens, perhaps with a new Z coming out.

Even if they intended to, Wont really make much of a difference, I am sure they have 100 exhausts booked ahead, When those 100 are shipped i am sure they will have another 100 in the Queue anyway lol. Its a cycle now.

A little bit of me wants this exhaust also because its made out to be so umm such a pain to acquire haha. Think about it, You could get any exhaust shipped almost next day except the FI . When i do get mine shipped, I think its kind of like a 'Badge' of how much patience i have. Like one of those AA Badges lol.

Another reason for it could be that, since they have different options in their exhausts.

And since they are not that big of a company, and focus on more than just exhausts, I guess its understandable for them to take some time.

My guess is mass production requires a huge capital investment and possibly makes customization options a lot harder.

One of the things that makes F.I. who they are is the fact that all systems are built BY HAND in house. They are cranking them out as fast as possible, trust me. They also are shipping Audi and Infiniti systems each week.

Hand made in the USA FTW!

Hey guys,

Kinda new to Exhausts. I am looking into the F.I CBE however I cant make up my mind between 12" and 18" resonators. All the videos online sound about the same.

Some info I've read says the exhaust note will sound the same its just quieter inside the car. Other things I've read says you'll only hear the 18" when you get on the throttle. I'm in a Roadster so there is no "quiet" inside lol.

Advice? Thoughts?

Thanks

Do you daily drive the car? Also, any plans to add HFCs or TPs down the road?

Fast Intentions exhaust is here! (continued)

I'm non-res and love it but it does pass thru a turbo first which muffles it some

Bolded above is NOT true. I've had my 18" resonated CBE installed for about 2 weeks now. You def get some noise on deceleration and mild acceleration. Honestly, the sound is perfect for me and I have no intentions of messing with the cats.

Just installed the non-resonated test pipes, paired with ARK Grip catback. The sound it makes is incredible :).

Not my DD. Its purpose is a weekend cruiser and track day car 3-4 times a year.

Finished goal is mild: CAI, CBE, Oil Cooler and tune. Whats hard is everyone rav's about each exhaust, non-res, 12" and 18" lol.

I almost feel like it need to hear them all in person, unless you or someone can really break down the sounds. videos are great but after watching 50 of them they all begin to blend together. Non-res is def loudest and a little higher in frequency

What made you go with 18" over 12" then? They both sound awesome.

Bossless1 04-27-2015 05:14 PM

After a seemingly long wait (9 weeks), I just (today) received my FI cat back system (w/18" res.) to go with the FI hf cats I already had... Super excited to get them installed tomorrow! Excellent product... and worth the wait! You can just look at the fabrication and see the quality - tight, uniform welds... thick machined joints, polished and presentable! A BIG THANKS goes out to TONY and the entire FI crew! CK

It is hard to capture the true sound in some of the online videos. Below I've tried to give a brief explanation of each option. You really can't go wrong with either option.

Our Non-Resonated is our loudest exhaust in terms of over all volume. It is also the highest pitched in tone, and sounds very exotic and European-like. It is a popular favorite for those who do not plan on changing their OEM catalytic converters.

Our 12" Resonators are our middle of the road option. This options is only slightly lower in terms of over all volume than our Non-Resonated option. The 12" resonators help to smooth out the exhaust note and add depth to the exhaust system.

Our 18" resonated exhaust system is our quietest option in terms of overall volume. When I say quiet, it is still louder than the OEM exhaust, and very noticeable from the outside of the vehicle. This option cuts out most of the added interior noise (great for a convertible), but produces the deepest and smoothest exhaust note.

Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.

I drove an SRT-4 with a catless turbo back exhaust for like 6 years - I was kinda over the loud exhaust thing so I wanted something more aggressive than stock but not too attention grabbing unless I really get on it. 18" seems like the perfect fit.

Also, I picked up mine used so I didn't really have a choice. =P

johncarlopang 04-28-2015 02:59 PM

hi FI owners, is 12" non reso comparable to the sound of armytrix full exhaust?

Asheth 04-28-2015 04:12 PM

#1079 installed with Evo-R diffuser no problems.

It can't be. The decibel rating for Armytrix when it's full open is like 104db. I think FI non-res is like 96 or 98db.

Installed mine today!!! I love it sooooo much!!!!! http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04...ff95eacb9c.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04...28ada56622.jpg please excuse how dirty she is.... I had her sooo pretty for Zday, then on the way back got super dusty and then it rained, have been too busy to wash her but will hopefully get a chance on Friday. Anyway: SS with 12" resonators. I was worried it wouldn't be as loud as the stillen exhaust on my G, but I was wrong!! In my opinion it's much louder, and with the resonators you can still really hear the exhaust from the inside. I was worried I wouldn't be able to hear it enough. I was pleasantly surprised and the looks are amazing!! It really stands out and looks aggressive

a little push fixes it easily. my left tip was a hair out when i first installed them as well. little tug and it was 100%. trust me, my OCD would not allow them to be anything but perfect lol

TheFLiP 04-30-2015 11:45 AM

Just checked the tracking number and it's out for delivery today! Can't wait to install it once I get back. Many thanks to Kevin, Tony, and the FI Team. It's something awesome to come back home to!

bkngo 04-30-2015 08:58 PM

I got a ZL kit and I have to modified mine :( I was going to go with another set of 4.5" resonated exhaust tips from Tony but it won't work... it has to be 4" OD...

johnwiki 05-02-2015 07:33 AM

Installed mine yesterday, the hardest part was getting the old cats off. After that everything fits like a charm and sounds incredible. No CEL, but I did have the traction control light come on, anybody know what thats about?

15 nismo

any plans to tweak the mufflers on the tdx? i traded my 13 in for a 15 nismo and had my tdx swapped to the nismo. everything fits except the tips are about a half inch to short. i really dont wanna have to sell my cf tdx i love it.

Is this the system you guys are talking about?
Fast Intentions

Also how do you guys feel about the resonators? Does it really make much difference? I usually drive my car without music, I like listening to the car but are the exhausts over the top with the cabin noise they create?
