Does that mean only Level10 is a source for upgraded valve bodies for the 7AT?
Gamma still list the built tranny from GTM on their website.

They still have valve body upgrades but they are not offering it for sale atm. Because the people who took over GTM currently do not understand all the valve body upgrade process. They still offer the torque converter upgrade, but they said at this stage no VB or Rebuild parts will be sold.

So probably level 10 is the best bet.

Had a quick look at the valve body and its a massive undertaking!

9 solenoids and at least 19 valve actuators to check, replace and rebore if necessary.

Then you have to reprogram the TCM and do whatever springs, passages etc that only Level 10 does!
I would assume some drilling may be required to increase line pressure and flow.

I'm not even sure if you can buy a new one from Nissan. There are rebuild ones around.

Research ongoing.

Maybe Level10 will sell you a rebuild/upgrade kit since "you are al the way in Canada and shipping would be beyond cost-prohibitive"

Found a cheap (like almost free) 7 speed auto 710E Jatco with a cracked housing. Time to put knowledge to practical experience and take this tranny apart and see what makes it tick. Measure the clutch paks and have a real good look at the valve body to see how it works.

Going to get the 711E Jatco service repair manual as well to see what parts cross over.

It will be a good winter project

It will be a interesting conversation with Level 10 this spring and to see how this generation compares to the 5 speeds I've rebuilt and modified in the past.
Jordo! and Jayhovah like this.
