They have to be set inside for a day or two above 68 deg. The poor guys at MA's shop are dealing with 38 deg's in the shop with heaters blaring. Those guys are freezing. It's cold as heck up there right now.

This Wednesday. It's going to be below zero. It's going to be close for them. Brrrr.

Kinda silly not to have one. I broke my 1975 280zt mustache bar in half. That is the rear diff mount. Wheel hop kills all.

redondoaveb 01-28-2019 10:39 PM

I just received mine today. :happydance: Won't be installed for another week though.

Hotrodz 01-28-2019 10:54 PM

My motor is broke but my rear diff is good to go!

I wish I could get my car to Seb to be finished. I keep hitting snags. Last week went to do my second round of WOT logs on map 3 and dammit if I didn't blow out a flange gasket mated to the turbo manifold. I could hear the leak after the first run. Put the car up and plain as day theres a piece of the Berk gasket sticking out of the flange. The Z1 metal gaskets should arrive tomorrow and I'm dreading having to drop the turbo and all the downpipe and exhaust just to get to the bolts.

I will keep quite. I have already spent too much of your money.

Spooler 01-31-2019 06:52 PM

It is getting real close. Enough said.

Spooler 02-01-2019 11:20 AM

New tires are in. It is too cold to mount them up. It needs to be 68deg to be able to mount them. Next week it will be high 60's and low 70's. Shooting for Monday or Wednesday worst case.

Say 'Hey' to mine if you get there before I do !!!
Shane just sent me some pics of the progress with the scavenge pump install.
Only the RPM Roll Bar left to install and replace the drivers side door panel that was damaged probably at AAM.
All parts are in the shop - no mo' waiting on UPS, FedX, USPS, or IPS (if you remember the sitcom 'King of Queens')

Spooler 02-04-2019 05:57 PM

New R888r tires were installed today. Now I sound like a 4x4 with the roar these things make. LOL

I had mine heat cycled by Tire Rack. Supposed to help them last longer. We shall see. It was 80 bucks plus the shipping additional to the tires. Not cheap by any means.

That's interesting. How do they heat cycle them?

I just read on their website how they do the heat cycling. That's pretty cool (no pun intended) that they offer the service.I didn't realize it was that important. I'll definitely keep that in mind.

The only place they can heat cycle them is out west. I have a warehouse 30min from me and they can't do that service.

Since you don’t have Facebook, a guy just made 937/700 with the 2.5 turbos.

Yeah, Seb made just shy of 1000whp. The issue is keeping the head from lifting.

I was wondering why go through the trouble of machining the VQ37 blocks for VR38 head studs.

Which guy??? I don't require that much. LOL

I have plenty of fuel and plenty of turbo to make it happen. I am just trying to stay in the safe zone since I don't have an
intake and wonder if I will have head lifting issues myself.

I don't know anything about the guy on Facebook's build but in general you don't hear about about many builds that are 900 plus because they seem to run into trouble at about 20 psi according to Seb. He has gotten close to 1000whp a couple of times on his Z. The first time he lifted the head pretty badly and the last time it was nothing "to bad" but he could see a few drop of antifreeze and it has held up fine since pushed it. He says the car if basically not driveable at full boost. He said that he broke the tires loose in 5th and 6th gear. He says 5th gear spools up as fast as my 3rd gear does at 600whp lol. I told him I don't want more than 17 psi lol.

Yeap, 18psi is the max I want to run. If I can hit 680-700hp on MA's dyno at 17psi. That will be good enough too. That would be 800hp on a dynojet.
