IF I can figure out how to run 19x10.5's for the front I would run those in the front instead. I would just need to put that 1/2in. to the inside. Anybody have a good wheel contact at Vividracing?

Rusty 01-16-2019 08:30 PM

When I got my Forgelines. I went with Getyourwheels. Eric was the guys name. But I don't think he works there any more.

Spooler 01-17-2019 01:36 PM

Well chit, machine shop didn't like something about the oil squirters so they are ordering new ones. It may be their policy to replace them on every engine build, not sure. Whatever, make sure it is perfect is my moto. The weather is going to be crappy next week anyway with snow and freezing rain. Mother nature is messing things up too. What the oil squirters do is to shoot oil up the underside of the pistons for cooling. They are located as an attachment to the block normally.

Spooler 01-17-2019 01:40 PM

Here is a picture for you. Why someone would buy them used is just too funny.

That bad? I will have to find another vendor if I decide to go forward.

JARblue 01-18-2019 10:17 AM

The owner is...

Hotrodz 01-18-2019 10:27 AM

All things being equal, they did me solid on my Fugimura Hood purchase along with Wavetrac rear diff and Sparco Seat. They allowed my brother to pick my hood up at the port in California so they did not charge me tax (because they are located in AZ) and no import fees!

As a vendor they do better these days. But I know too many stories of Dan screwing people out of money and then straight up telling them to go fùck themselves when they asked for a well-deserved refund. I'm really not sure how he isn't in jail.

I have heard those stories too, but have not heard of any in recent history. I took a chance because at the time you could not get the Fugi hood for the price I did and they were pretty much the only one that could get me my rear diff. I haven't bought anything thing from them since then. I get my wheels from Kami Speed and Get Your Wheels. Josh is the new sales rep and he is easy to work with. I bought the wheels for my wife's Audi from him.

Well, MA-Motorsports has a Holinger sequential tranny for the 370z now. No flat foot shifting. I wonder how BGTV8 is doing with his build. He has a MOTEC that should be able to handle that part of it.

With the sequential. Believe it's just a pressure transducer wired in to cut the ignition when pressure is applied to the shifter. You don't drive around with your hand on the shifter all the time. Because you would be cutting the ignition. And you can flat foot shift a ignition. Drove a built Viper last year with a sequential. :driving: Wet myself in that car. :yum:

How much is that tranny? :yum:

Quaife, not Holinger.

https://shop.quaife.co.uk/nissan-350...earbox-helical

10,450 pounds equals about $13,500. They do make one for the 370Z, but it's not listed.

When my first mother in law lived in Miramar. She used to call southern Fl. North Cuba. :rofl2: My wife had an uncle who had a business in Miami. Had 2 guys working for him. One Cuban, and one Jamaican. He would have to translate for them. As when they spoke Spanish. They couldn't understand one another. Two different dialects. :rofl2:

LOL, it's all Spanglish at some point. I remember when I was playing Junior college baseball. My college was less than a mile from the Mexican border so we had a few Spanish speakers on our team. So we were playing a San Francisco Giants minor league team and they had a few Cubans on the team. We had to share a bus with them to get to the ball park from the hotel and it was a riot. They were talking and laughing and we were like what did they say, come on what are they saying and finally one of our Mexican teammates said how the would the **** would I know they talk to fast! I can only understand every third or fourth word! We laughed so hard that we were crying.

At what power level are they not holding up? I haven’t heard of anyone breaking one.

I know of one member on here broke the input shaft at about 600 lbs of torque with the BP kit. Can't remember his handle on here. But his name is Mike from Pittsburgh with a whitze Z. Last year, he switched to twin turbos from FI. Drove back from last year's ZDayZ' with him. :driving:

Spooler 01-18-2019 11:38 PM

One of MA's customers also popped an input shaft. That's why this all came about. He had just installed a brand new Nissan tranny.
To be honest, this brings back bad memories of my 1975 280z Turbo. I popped 3 trannies before I finally had enough and upgraded. I still have the car but it is a love/hate relationship. That is why it is still sitting in the garage.

sirnixalot 01-19-2019 08:12 AM

I would like to think there is a market for some middle ground option between stock and a transmission worth more than the car.

Maybe it's time for someone to explore a new input/main shaft made out of some fancy alloy?

If there was a big demand for it. Someone would be making it now.

Agreed. How many people are actually running north of 600wtq, if that is even the limit or just an isolated incident, ten, fifteen tops?

R&D is not cheap. GTR guys have Sheap transmissions. The old Borg Warner T5 had G-Force for the Mustang crowd and the 280zx turbo crowd, etc, etc.

Spooler 01-19-2019 02:20 PM

FYI, My 04.5 Dodge Dually with a 5.9 diesel has an upgraded transmission. The input shaft is billet and heat treated along with several other upgrades. Someone may be able to do the same to our trannies but what will break next and at what power level will be the big question. The only way we are going to know is if someone foots the bill to figure it out. We may just be at the design limit of the tranny. I know the diesel guys with NV5600 or G56's gave up. They just changed out to an automatic since the R&D was already massive for the 48re/47re auto trannies.
