I got the axles covered. Trust me when I say this. If our transmission can be broken, I will break it. I have skills in that department. I am not talking about bad syncro's. I am talking about breaking a shaft, ripping teeth of a gear, or the outright explosion of said tranny. LOL I sure as heck hope not but I have already forewarned the wife so she is not surprised if it happens.

I shatter the case on a BW Super T 10, broke the tail housing on a Rock Crusher in my TransAm. Broke the main shaft in a 70's Hemi manual in my 440 Dart. :icon14:

There is a trail of broken parts behind me. :icon14: 5 diffs, 6 trannies, 8 motors, driveshafts, twisted frame, axles, wheel studs. That's just in cars. Motorcycles are another chapter.

Spooler 01-20-2019 10:09 PM

I have looked high and low for a billet CD009 input shaft with no luck. Only thing we can do is see if Sonnax will make one.

You gonna have to get traction before you begin breaking the large parts :wtf2:
With the potential power you’ll be making;you’re gonna draw a lotta black lines :ugh2:

If I had to guess the problem happens when you shock load the input shaft. Say you are in it all the way and you hit a bump, you loose traction, and then the car hooks back up hard. That's what will kill an input shaft on the street. Drag strip issues all depend on how good the prep is. If it is a good prep, it can be very hard on drive train parts.

Just ordered some new tires. Going with Bridgestone S007 for now. My back tires are done and it is too cold to be messing around with R888r's.

Spooler 01-23-2019 09:55 AM

Dang it. The 325/30/19's S007's are on backorder until mid February. Frustration is setting in. Guess I will try R888r's.

solidus 01-23-2019 04:21 PM

Spooler the 888r hooks good for me on 17psi WOT logs. But I'm in Florida so the coldest I had them out doing that was probably low 50s. Just had to drive for a while before I had confidence to do it with some heat. I had planned to do them in 325/30 on Nismo's like my spare set with RE11S but the 305 888r actually sits wider on the wheel.

I have 11.5 in wheels. No problems for me.

12.5 in. usable tread is hard to hide. LOL Besides the wheels and exhaust
the car looks stock. If you are not looking you don't noticed what is stuffed
under the fenders.

Spooler 01-23-2019 09:46 PM

I forgot to mention, the oil squirters arrived at the machine shop. They are back to work on the motor build. YES!!!!!

I'm trying. This is with the 325s. Most people miss the intercooler and my cover isn't really blown until around 3000rpm being it's a single it had a loud spool but being a 6870 it sounds like a 777 on a taxiway.

James10694 01-24-2019 02:41 PM

How do you get any traction with those!
I just put the stock tires back on and I cant put down anything in 1st 2nd or 3rd at 500whp!

I used to be a 509 till the new setup. Ran into problems tuning with Seb when he started asking for 3rd gear WOT logs at 12psi. Couldn't hold traction under 65-70mph in third. Got a set of triple 8rs on my spare rears and problem solved. Even at 17psi on E85 I can do a 3rd gear WOT if the tires are warm.

Did he remote tune you?

Still tuning. Working out Map 2&3 WOT only now. I wanted no aspect of boost to be left in my hand other than switching maps because I'm dangerous. Map 1 is my only 93 Map but it's also flex capable. Map 2 is 15psi and map 3 has been showing 17.5 so far with no nasty knock gremlins running at E77 shown on the ethanol content reader.

They didn't say. They could have been bent or their standard of replacing them no matter what. I am cool with either one. They cool the pistons and need to be perfect.

I know Marc. Remember when he first moved to Orlando.

Spooler 01-26-2019 01:25 AM

If you know him, get him to make a billet VQ37 block. Just sayin.

Lol! Last time I saw Mark he had a small Fab shop and had just EASd from the Marines. Then he blew up. From what I know they can build VQs but their billet stuff is pricey. That said I may end up driving over.

They make a VQ35 billet block. I am not sure if it is a wet block or not.

The reason I asked was that AAM had problems with the Tune - Ecutek - and Flex Fuel - then they blew the motor.
MA-Motorsports also had a problem with making the tune work - boost spikes and boost creep - so they went with external waste gates and external boost controller.
This effectively eliminated the automatically compensating Flex Fuel tune.
It ended up being a major loss of time and money.

I have had issues before with internal wastegates. Boost creep and boost spikes also. Internal wastegates suck.

I may have to put my stock wheels and tires on before I take the car north. R888r's aren't gonna like the cold.

It doesn't really get that cold here in Orlando but what I can tell you is that they dont like to act right in anything under 50 degrees or so.

RE11's don't like it either. I am use to that. I am worried about the temps getting below 20deg. When I read the spec sheet for the R888r's, the tread will crack if it get's below 15 deg. They have to be set inside for a day or two above 68 deg. The poor guys at MA's shop are dealing with 38 deg's in the shop with heaters blaring. Those guys are freezing. It's cold as heck up there right now.

Spooler 01-27-2019 07:26 PM

Yeah, I am stressing.... LOL
