Per the instructions, filter has to go on before you put the supercharger back in.

Now that I go back and look at it you are correct, it threw me off because right above it, it show it in place when it talks about the frame. Sorry.

At 3700 rpm boost is at 1.16 bar (2.32 psi), 5175 rpm 1.31 bar (4.5 psi), 6300 rpm the pressure is at 1.44 bar(6.38 psi), at 6775 rpm it was at 1.48 bar (7.2 psi) and when it reached 6950 rpm the pressure had DROPPED to 1.37 bar (5.37 psi).

I was going to use some of the CRC belt dressing to see if it would help and then the rain came. Looks like it will be here for awhile. If it dries up before dark I'll try the belt dressing otherwise it will have to wait until tomorrow.

What formula are you using to convert ur MAP (bar) reading to psi?QA

Top is correct and I'll add in that the filter will need to be slightly compressed to get it in place. It is a tight fit but it will go.

Top, any chance that a new intake filter can be done? I do remember seeing an installation that used a large pass through pipe that put the filter in front of the radiator. I will be exploring this in June when I get back to work on my Z. I am slammed right now and will be for months.

I will need to take the SC back off in order to get the volute clocked correctly so that will be a good time to explore another intake filter option.

TopgunZ 01-13-2017 09:32 AM

Yeah. You can do that. But when i went from that design to the current i picked up power. I also made a "Hydra" intake that i had StillenZ84 try for me but he said it didn't make any more power. It utilized the stock intake boot with a filter off the front like my initial design but i drilled 1" holes in the coupler around the sides of the intake clamping area and placed an array of small breather filters in there. I lost all my pics of it though since my phone took a digger.

Swiss370Z posted these pictures on what his shop did for him. Looks like one 90mm pipe would need to be fabricated.

Think this would be worthwhile doing?

Well, This is what i had on my car when i first made the kit in my garage. I did however have the flanges off the boot for the recirc and crankcase just plugged (like an idiot). If i would have thought about it earlier i would have put breather filters on there and let them also intake air which I think would have helped.

Im not saying to not try it. I try new things all the time and its the only way to make changes. Do I think you will make more power? not really...

Hey TopgunZ, I DM'd you on monday about this kit but haven't heard back from you at all. Definitely wanna look into getting this for my Z. Looks like a very well put together kit. Lots of good info reading through this thread.

Anybody having a hard time with those three hidden bolts in the Stillen manifold needs to invest in a cell phone lol :)
