Im just not spending $450 dollars on it. That will be my next project when i install engine oil cooler.

My shop trimmed the engine side of the aluminium crash bar a few mm's in so it's recessed a bit, then seam welded along the length of the trimmed section to get crash bars strength back. This gives a (better) gap between the A to A intercooler and the crash bar to also give some clearance in a frontal accident :happydance:

My 14 Nismo was the same. I went with the FI one.

Does anyone with the kit experience slight vibrations on initial start up?

TopgunZ 01-03-2017 08:00 AM

The only vibration that i have heard of was from someone that had the volute touching the frame.

However, I had noticed that the tbolt clamp on the throttle body was rubbing on my hood and I was suprised i didnt hear any vibration from it. That is why I recommend using the worm drive clamps there since it is a tight fit. Check your hood in that area for any contact.

Guys quick question... car threw a P0507 "Idle Air Control RPM Higher than expected." I am using the Turbosmart 25mm BOV and have it at the softest setting. Did some reading and got different points on adjustments. Should the BPV be slightly open at idle? If it isn't do I tighten it?

Sorry no pics of it.
Also of interest is I have a 2012 model Z with a 2013+ front bumper (with the LED's) that I was able to get and have fitted after an accident I had where, through no fault of my own, I t-boned a Nissan Tida. :shakes head:

Being that the charger is on the bracket, wouldn't that keep it off the frame? During the install I know that we double checked to ensure that the volute was not touching the frame and tried to follow the spacing as close to the pics you provided on the install manual. The vibration only happens for me on initial start up. I will double check everything again just to make sure as soon as I figure out this issue with my idle.

Your BPV needs to be open at idle. If anything you should loosen it. When i had the turbosmart on i had bought the lightest (blue) spring and even trimmed off a ring and a half to get the perfect amount of tension on the piston head of the valve. But, i did have the SI trim and 9psi pulley so it was pushing more air at idle. You should be able to trim down any of the springs to get the tension right.

Check the clearance from the cross brace to the throttle bodies. Mine was almost touching and was causing knocks and rattles. I used 1/2 inch spacers to slightly raise the cross brace and that fixed the problem.
