Sooooo, I have a surprised for you guys. I refused to acknowledge the fact that I had to send out my blower to have an impeller upgrade. I decided to hell with it and upgrade to the largest known trim for the V3. It's specially made for C07 corvettes and a couple of the Vortech reps didn't even know it existed for some odd reason.

May I introduce you to the Ti-Trim. same internal gear ratio, larger 3.75” inlet, larger and differently contoured impeller. It's got a much higher CFM rating and in the corvette world, you are expected to build your engine when upgrading from the Si-trim to this. Will I blow up my engine? I guess we'll find out in a couple days. :ughdance:

Seriously though, it's supposed to double the boost, so this is uncharted territory as of now. I have a feeling that it won't be too crazy, but I've seen a 350z run this and he was @19psi (was forced to build his block after about a year of tracking it). I have a couple solutions if it gets that point, but I'll revisit those if it comes down to it.

Let me know Dyno numbers if you ever decide to dyno it please :) should be interesting.

Dyno results will be coming as soon as all these issues get settled.

I hope you dont run out of fuel up top if that trim pushes a lot harder. There is always a limiting factor when going for more power. Definitely keep an eye on your fuel pressure gauge when they are tuning it. Better yet would be to get a camera on it.

Also, make sure they have a boost reference hooked up to they dyno. It is AMAZING how many shops will not get this out of sheer laziness.

Yeah, I'm road tuning it for now. Seb just sent me an updated tune, but I was still in the 11s at almost-WOT. I'm carefully watching the AFRs, so we'll see how it goes. I'll be on the dyno as soon as I'm ready for E85 and I'll make sure everything is good before we proceed.

I'm going to jack the car up again and check all my bolts tonight probably. Just trying to figure out this damn vibration issue. It's pretty much only happening in reverse now.

Is your car a automatic? I have a vibration in reverse also.

Same here, I'm going to check with Pat@level10 about it.

Yep it's the 7AT. I had vibration before, but not to this extent. It's literally shaking my cabin.

Will do!

milkcow500 11-08-2016 01:07 PM

Hmm I completely forgot about the transmission. I'll check everything over again and then maybe give them a call to. They are only 40 mins from my workplace.

I spoke with Pat@level10 and he doesn't think is the transmission. He thinks is the exhaust making the clattering and vibration through 1-2 and reverse. He asked me to bring it in so he can check it out but since I'm about 2 hours away I told him I'll take a look first.

Interesting. I'll take a look at mine as well.

BTW, Sebastian sent me an updated tune and it looks like my AFRs are freaking out up top.

At 7k rpms, my car starts sputtering and my AFRs on my gauge start jumping everywhere. You can see on the graph that it's all over the place.

What's causing that ?

He said briefly mentioned that it could be my fuel pressure dropping or an issue with my primary O2/WB sensors.

I ran another log to confirm the issue, so I'm just waiting for him to get back to me now.
