I know 928 you can choose between clear aluminum or black. It haven't seen a srillen one that is anything other than black. JB pulleys are right from Vortech I believe and not coloured either. Not that it makes much difference at the end of the day. I'm just glad my bright green belt has turned mostly black now lol

I want one kit :)

Too bad that Gates doesn't make that length belt in their racing blue color. But then again it would just turn black....... I'm a John Deere fan so the green makes me think of their slogan, "Nothing Runs Like A Deere". Yeah, nothing runs like a boosted Z either! Dang, my car is FUN! |

Thats really, really odd. I would put a caliper on them for sure.
|
Would def check the sizes. My silver pulley was the 8 psi and measured 3.12. My 9 psi was black and measured 2.75 or around there. I went from 8.5 psi with the 8 psi pulley to a little over 10 with the 9 psi.

Topgunz, any update on how your SC kit is going?

My 8psi pulley is silver and most that I have seen on the forum are silver (bare aluminum). The color is just a coating (anodizing) and should not effect performance. The "high traction" pulleys are often bead blasted for a more aggressive "bite" of the belt surface. I'm not sure how effective this treatment is over time.
One thing that I have noticed on the micro-v belts is that the ribs are fairly wide compared to the pulley groove. As the belt is put under tension the ribs are pulled into the grooves (standard V belt workings) and increase the surface area/traction. They do reach a limit when the force is greater than the traction. You gotta remember that a SC is drawing somewhere between 50 and 70 hp to create the boost we so love. |
I didn't realize the 'high traction' pulleys were just bead blasted. Thought it was a coating for some reason. Heck I've got a bead blasting cabinet in the garage so can make all the high traction I want lol

Anyone running this with the Stillen front fascia?
You'd think it would not be a problem considering the extra room vs the OEM fascia but it does incorporate a different windshield washer fluid reservoir so who knows. Just covering all the bases. :ughdance:

^^^What he said.
It's not difficult. you can sand it and get some paint to make it look almost stock. I don't have a picture, but I used Rustoleum Gloss black, I believe, and it looks the same. I also used a Dremmel with the metal cutting wheel. It took 3 wheels to do the job lol. |
|
I thought I saw in this thread that someone had run a tube from their Tial 50mm to elsewhere... Has anyone done this? My BOV actually blows the wheel shroud apart from the quarter panel haha. Looking to redirect this. If you've done this, what size hose did you use and where did you put it (giggety)? Thank you!

Just a :tiphat: to TopZ and all those who have been actively participating and contributing to this thread. I've been on this forum since 2009 and have never seen anything like it. |
TopZ is a good dude ! :worship:
I hope Stillen isn't watching thread. I would rather TopZ finish developing full kit. He deserves it with all the work he has done. Would hate to see it stolen buy the big guys. TopZ kit I didn't have to sign waver or send money order to keep off the books like Stillen does to there customers. :ohsnap1: Boost Performance built an awesome kit for manual cars, TopZ solved the issues in the stillen kit and now 7AT and Manual have a new option.. This Forum is Fing Awesome. :usa: Z owners are Fing Awesome ! Merica! :tiphat: |
Really looking forward to this kit. I think there are a lot of people interested in SC, but were held back by limited options. It was either shady GTM/gamma or crappy Stillen kit.

This is true...you are one of the OG members that have been on here since I joined in 2010. That was a time when a lot of vendors were so active on thr forum. When Fast Intentions threads had daily repsonses from Tony...way before FI even had a TT kit and only sold echaust components for the Z....and when guys had aspirations of breaking 350WHP on a Naturally Aspirated Z LOL..... Within that time this forum has really grown and matured with awesome members who have shared their knowledge and skills. I've been a member of other car forums in the past and I have to sa....... by far this is the best forum I've been on. This is what a car Forum should be like...... |
We are about to make some big numbers hopefully with this kit. Trying to get this tuning perfect.
Aaron has changed the game for a lot of us and is still making improvements to the kit to make it even better. Big ups to him for sure. |
Evan, let me know if you want my gen 2 y pipe and L pipe setup. I'll hook you up for cheap.
|
Brian's r35 manifold setup with 8psi stillen kit finally done. This is just a base tune, but the graph looks pretty smooth and efficiency seems like it'll be good. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7455975f41.jpg

What maxes out first the stillen pump or the injectors? I have the 9lb pulley already, wondering if upgrading the pump and not the injectors would show any gain/benefit? They have pumps locally and not injectors, so I could only install one before I dyno my a2a kit.

If you choose to keep the Stillen pump and Injectors the next best thing to do would be install a Fuel Return System. |
Who's still running standard MAF's or has everyone upgraded to the UpRev GT MAF's?
I'm going Si trim upgrade (already have the 9lb stillen pulley)/e85 + air to air conversion from here, would rather change over to Ecutek instead of buying the UpRev MAF's but if I need to do both may just stick with UpRev. |
