That's some serious power!

TopgunZ 08-13-2017 08:58 PM

Insane!! I think I'll be needing to build more kits...

TopgunZ 08-13-2017 10:15 PM

Can't wait to see his new videos. I mean, he was leaving some serious high hp cars in the rearview before. It won't even be a challenge now.

Tusharp83 08-13-2017 11:17 PM

Ive PMed you about buying your kit haven't heard from you - TOPGUNZ

bewhitey 08-14-2017 08:27 PM

What's this I hear about a second gen y tube? What is the difference? I think I have the first gen one. I got my kit last July. How much for the second gen y tube?

Can you make a y tube / new intake manifold that does not hide the manifold bolts on the passenger side.... I hate that thing!

But, you would miss out on all of the fun installing it.

I thought that the fuel pump mod was far worse than the intake install.

TopgunZ 08-15-2017 08:52 AM

No second Gen Y tube. I sold StillenZ84 a completely different Y tube and he is the only one that has it.

I am still planning on making a kit that utilizes the stock manifold but that date is TBD and will be several months away still. I am just way to busy currently to get any progress going.

bewhitey 08-15-2017 06:29 PM

gotchya, Z84 won the golden ticket. He gets to explore TopgunZ's A2A factory with the oompa loompas. Luuucky

That will be interesting to see the new kit, put those oompa loompas to work developing it!

TBatt 08-21-2017 10:27 AM

Guys, I've had a bunch of inquires about my additional pulley kit again. Right now I'm out of stock on several of the parts needed. If you are wanting one of my kits please PM me so I can get the parts on order for you. I don't like to keep too many of the parts in stock, that way I don't get stuck with them when the market saturates.

I have one order to be filled and another 2 pending. Add your name to the list.

overtureZ 08-27-2017 02:42 PM

Aaron, do you take deposits?

TopgunZ 08-27-2017 08:25 PM

Yes sir.

brucelidat 08-27-2017 11:21 PM

deposits for the new kit or the a2a upgrade for the stillen kit?

Just A2A.

overtureZ 08-28-2017 08:17 AM

There is 2 kits?

TopgunZ 08-28-2017 08:33 AM

Here is whats going on with Supply. I have 7 A2A kits in the making. They will be done and ready to ship in mid to late September. I have a full payment on one and a deposit on one other, with several guys saying they will be sending a deposit.

I take deposits because I can not promise 15 people I have kits when I am only making 7. The first 7 guys to either pay in full or send a deposit "lock" in a kit. The deposit is $200.

I had started designing a supercharger kit of my own but I am just far too busy with life (and A2A kits) to get that complete any time soon, which may never get done. For now it is just the A2A kit.

brucelidat 08-28-2017 11:16 AM

Sad to hear that. I was really looking forward to your kit. Now I'll have to look into pricing out a stillen kit and all the upgrades along with your A2A kit. There's been a lot of talk of impellers and pulley upgrades. Would it be possible for you to add a section in your first post of this thread that outlines the recommended upgrades to optimize the gains with this kit so we can have all that info in one easy to find location? Also what kind of numbers can we expect with those upgrades and your a2a kit?

TopgunZ 08-28-2017 12:01 PM

I was informed that my pictures no longer show up on the 1st page of the thread, among others, and looked and yes, they are not there. So I went on to Photobuckets site to "get 3rd party sharing" and they want $400 a year to share!!!!

So, anybody know the best way/site to upload pics to/from for free?

The forum itself will host pics for you... that is what I am doing when posting pics here..

I use google photos to store my stuff, but getting links out of it to embed here is painful and unsupported.

TBatt 08-28-2017 12:34 PM

That is what I do too.:iagree:

This :hello:

acorona370 08-30-2017 02:48 PM

now that the 9lbs pully is discontined. ill be doing the Vortech 2.95 pulley PN 2A038-295. replacing the idler pulley with Gates #36225. -Thanks to tbatt sharing the knowledge.

The impeller i have to send in the whole blower in for the si impeller right?
sorry for the noob question. When i read thru the thread people say "si trim" "si upgrade" and "si impeller" are all these different?:confused:

BOLIO 671 08-31-2017 09:32 AM

Yes Si Trim Si Upgrade and Si Impeller are all the same thing. You can replace the impeller urself but it wont be warrantied. Most people turn it into Vortechfl for the warranty and also so they can get their bearings upgraded...which is also recommended. The bearings that we have are designed for SCi....changing the impeller will will increase boost thus working the blower harder.

928 Motorports also does upgrades but they are pricier.

When I called Vortech they told me they don't upgrade the bearings, only the impeller. It must be 928 that has the option to upgrade the bearings.

Vortech offers a bearing/seal replacements at an additional cost when you do the SI upgrade. Correct, 928 has the high speed bearings.

I believe Z1 is continuing the 9 lb pulley, but I think they are upping the price.

[strike] I must have spoken with someone who didn't know much. I told them about a separate bearing upgrade, how others do it on the forums, etc. They were quite confident and sure Vortech doesn't do ANY bearing upgrades to the supercharger.

Glad I didn't do it yet! Now I know to speak with someone else from their team if they don't know about it. [/strike]

EDIT: I can't read!! Vortech has bearing replacement, 928 has the upgrade.

I've been trying to find out what pulley Z1 is using for the upgrade so I will know if my kit is compatible. I asked them "is the 9psi pulley they have the same as the Stillen or is it different?" there answer was "yes". Now I am 50% confident it is compatible...........

The Z1 price is currently at $155 which is less than the Stillen and more than the Vortech.

Does Stillen still offer the 9psi pulley? I was going to order the one from Z1 but if you're not sure if it'll work with your kit them I'm going to hold off.

It appears Concept Z has the Stillen pulley

I'm in minnesota for the next 10 days and i'd like an a2a for a g37 coupe. Take my money please :-)

TopgunZ 09-14-2017 02:40 PM

Hi Nick. I got your vmail. I will not be able to take your money just yet. However, I do ship and if anything I need a good reason to head back to Colorado and go skiing soon.

Z Warrior 09-15-2017 07:17 AM

08 g37 coupe 5AT RWD

I'm thinking about doing this and buying the parts slowly and installing when spring arrives next year.
I have FI catback/rhfc (I'll change the rhfc for test pipes down the road)
Since I have an 08 I can only use uprev correct? It will be my daily until I can buy a beater down the road. I'm aiming for 420-450whp (nothing crazy yet...) I don't see myself using E85. Do I need the 9lb pulley?

Do I need the transgo kit upgrade?

My shopping list so far:
Stillen SC kit
Topgunz A2A upgrade
TBatt idler pulley
SI trim upgrade from vortech
Tial QRJ upgrade
Injector Dynamics ID1000 (over kill or am i good?)

What fuel pump upgrade should I do? Is AEM 320 LPH E85 Fuel Pump good?
Which engine/transmission cooler do I need?
So I cannot use the oem crashbar correct? where do I get one that I can use?
What else am i missing?

Im not sure on the 08 uprev only bit. Maybe someone else can verify that.

For 420-450whp you will not need the 9psi pulley, especially if you have the SI trim.

I would go with all tranny upgrades if possible.

The 1000's are not overkill and would be a good choice. An even bettter choice would be the 1050x's. Latest and greatest injector and new technology.

I would go with the aeromotive stealth 340lph pump.
Get the best tranny cooler you can afford. Need to keep the stress off that auto.
OEM bar will not fit. Will need to use the Fast intentions crash bar.

Missing? Depends on your future goals....

overtureZ 09-15-2017 04:45 PM

Hey Aaron, what would I potentially make if I used Tims no slip kit + 9lb pulley, with your kit.

I'll be using Topgunz's kit, 9 lb pulley, si impeller upgrade and Tbatts's tensioner. I'll be tuning on 91 octane and e85. I'm hoping for mid 500's on e85.

TopgunZ 09-15-2017 09:10 PM

Another option for you power hungry guys is the 928 impeller with the high speed ceramic bearings. Couldn't have recommended them in the past but now they are getting some miles behind them and building a rep.

Will be able to squeeze a good amount more of power out of the setup of you spin it faster on the jackshaft side of things. If your going e85 you will 100% need a rfs. But then might as well take advantage of it all and go with the high speeds if you want to surpass 550.

I was going to do the "super vortech" upgrade from 928 but I got a si supercharger for a price I couldn't turn down. With the money I saved I'll probably use it to get a cjm fuel system. Definitely a rfs. I'm going to start with the 9lb pulley and see what results I get. If I'm not seeing mid 500's with that set up then I'll start looking into jackshaft and supercharger pulleys which means I'll probably have to upgrade the bearings.
