The 450 is not necessary. I'm going to be doing my initial tune on 93 first and then move onto E85 (I'll be going flex fuel fyi) in maybe a month or so. From what Charles told me, the upgraded S1 + Walbro 450 will be a HUGE upgrade from where I 'would' be at right now. I'm pretty much going overboard, since I'm not even going to be running on the SI unit.

Well atleast if you decide to go with a the SI, your fuel is already there.
Better safe than sorry. |
So is it better to go with the 340 aeromotive stealth pump or the 450 walbro pump for the e85/Stillen a2a?:ugh2::ugh2:

The 450 will be "better", but isn't necessary. Keep in mind, you need a fuel return kit with an external filter in order to run the 450. I know Topgunz had plans to go with the 450 eventually, but he is running the standard S1 kit right now.

Does anyone know where to find idler pulleys by dementions? Autoparts store are useless.

I just measured the supercharger pulley on the serpentine side and it is 2.9" . Is this the normal pulley? I thought it was 3.1 or 3.2". Isn't this the pulley that gets changed to the 2.75" one for the 9 psi?

It should be 3.2 or 3.1, I tried a 2.75 but that when my supercharger blew up. Don't use that with the 9lb pulley, that pulley alone is probably over spinning it or real close.

Both on the jack shaft are the same size stock, I'm not positive on the size but I know it's in the big thread about a2a.

Well, looks like another set back. Looks like I'm not having the best of luck. The CJM S1 upgrade kit that was sent to me was missing a line, so my shop has to make one, since it would take too long to have Charles send one out.
I asked Charles a last minute question about possibly hardwiring the Walbro 450 and he told me that we should probably upgrade the wiring, since it runs very hot on stock and probably wouldn't last. Parts should be here on Tuesday, so I'm hoping this will be it finally. |
