Correct me if im wrong, I had my bracket extended about an inch aswell because my 3" wasn't taking up the required tension? I could be wrong but I swore mine wouldn't tighten down without the extended slot.

I forgot which thread we did this all in? I couldn't find it

Can you find it topz?

EVOHUNTER 05-26-2016 03:26 PM

Found it!!

TopgunZ 05-26-2016 03:51 PM

Mine tightens up with the 3.2 and 3.0 setup. Your 2.75 is small enough to need the extra room.

Thanks!

I have read that thread along with every other thread I could find. I'm not going into this totally blind but there is a lot of information on the forum to digest, which is a good thing!

My plan is to document my build so that anyone else that wants to go the A2A route from the beginning can follow what we all have learned. Time to contribute back into the forum.

All of you guys have been great at sharing information and making the mistakes that I don't have to. THANKS!

Special thanks to Jwillis, man you endured some real trials with what you went through. Next time I'm down in FL I'll buy you a beer or two. Oh, just remembered, you are Capt Morgan guy. I can drink to that!

JWillis72 05-26-2016 04:56 PM

Correction- I have a 3" supercharger pulley, I had a 2.8 when the supercharged self destructed.

Nice! I want one of these kits! but my z took a dump for the second time this month.... A few weeks ago the dealer said it was the camshaft position sensor and supposedly fixed it. It was doing the same thing today, kept losing power and acting like it wanted to stall out/running sporadically so I rushed over to the dealer before it left me stranded like last time. Water might be getting into something because I just went through the car wash yesterday....maybe they will let me trade it in for a leaf

A leaf? Your in Denver, not Boulder.:icon17:

mikey1600 05-27-2016 07:12 AM

have you got the prices on these as well dude if we bought it included in the full kit price?

Additional supporting mods offered: (at extra charge)
-Rigid pulley tensioner bracket
-Main bracket anti-flex adapter

TopgunZ 05-27-2016 07:21 AM

I can get the tensioner brackets for $100. I could get the main anit-flex for around $250. I havent really been concentrating on those much as i am not sure at what point they are needed and do not want to sell something to someone if they don't really need it. Seems like anyone spinning the supercharger to 56K with the 9psi pulley isn't having issues with it and we cant really spin these too much faster without putting them in danger of self destruction.

If we find a need for them I can/will make some.

Now if we ever step into the V1 or V2 units then thats a whole other ballgame.

Topgunz, have you used the 928 motorsports bov? Think I'm about to throw my cheap one in the dumpster.

First Ive heard of it, but by doing a quick google search I see it has a 1" inlet and 1" outlet. That is not big enough and your bosch will flow just as much as thats the same size.

Also, i could only find a blow off valve. That spring will be way to stiff and you will be calling turkeys from miles away.

Honestly, the Tial is pretty awesome. Did you see what that mean sucker did to StillenZ84's filter?! :bowrofl:

Now that my car is getting a built motor and I have a shop that knows superchargers and can do their own fab work trying a V2 is tempting again.

Do it! I promise to provide you with both flex resolutions.

Pauly Z 05-27-2016 10:43 AM

I was looking at that extra tapped hole in the bracket for another pulley. With the sensor plug and angle of the cover, it doesn't look like much room for a pulley.

I want to get the new engine in it and make sure things continue to go well with the new shop and then we can talk about it. When I get it back it will be getting close to track time again ( we take summers off here) so I wouldn't do it right away but I might start gathering parts.

I'm still dead in the water. Just a heads up to anyone who is looking at fuel return / pump upgrades:

Charles just finalized on the design for the new upgraded version of the S1 kits. This is routed differently and has a filter on it, which will allow you to run the Walbro 450. He will be selling upgrade kits for those who already have the current version.

Pauly Z 05-27-2016 12:22 PM

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and get the Tial. What size outlet are you guys using with the filter?

Intercooler arrived today. Man, those Y pipes look awesome!

Another day and another day closer to the build.

Buy a steel 2" pulley and put it inbetween the stillen pulley and the idler pulley on the face of the plate. THere is already a machined and tapped hole in there for it. You would then need to find about a 6" longer belt. This would get more than twice the wrap around the stillen pulley and grip like a mofo.

Do it! :happydance:

Looks like Stillen originally designed the supercharger bracket for a idler pulley to be there. That's why there is a tapped hole on the bracket. Found this on a forum in the UK. And the picture is of Stillen's car.

If you get the right size belt that should cut way back on any slipping.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pauly Z 05-30-2016 07:12 PM

That's going to be the tricky part. Going to see if Stillen will be helpful tomorrow. I know it's a 2" pulley and it's only going to work with the 9 lb charger pulley.

JWillis72 05-30-2016 07:21 PM

I'm guessing around 110" belt, the one you have now is 104.5" if I remember correctly.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pauly Z 05-30-2016 08:54 PM

Well if I'm correct that the engine belt is a Gates Micro-v AT k071045, then according to the gates chart it is 105 1/8 inches. There is a huge jump in lengths which is going to make this hard. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

JWillis72 05-30-2016 08:57 PM

Hmmm, I was always under the impression that the 1045 was 104 1/2" so I'm not sure now. That chart looks like none of those would work.

TopgunZ 05-31-2016 12:13 AM

You can get the 107.125 to work.

In Red Lodge Montana right now. Ipa's here are tasty.

Upscale Speed 06-01-2016 06:13 PM

TopGunz what is the turn time on the kit shipping from the point of order/payment?

TBatt 06-02-2016 08:56 AM

He is on vacation this week drinking IPAs.........lucky guy!

He has been very quick to respond otherwise.

My fuel issue "should" be fixed by Saturday. If all goes as planned, tuning will resume on Monday. 2 months without boost; no bueno.

What was the problem?

milkcow500 06-02-2016 06:40 PM

Charles said it's probably something in the installation, since a faulty part is highly unlikely. The upgraded S1 changes the kit completely, so any issues I possibly have now should be resolved. That is unless they mess up this install too.

JWillis72 06-02-2016 06:46 PM

My S1 has been rock solid for me so far.

The fuel return kit is fine. I need the upgraded kit to run E85 anyways. I'm also swapping out for the Walbro 450, since it will have a built in filter.

JWillis72 06-02-2016 07:19 PM

Mine was the first one he did on a Stillen kit. He told me he was guessing on a couple parts but they all fit perfect the first time. Mine only has a 250 in it.

I have the S1-S with the 340 pump in it and it all installed and works perfect

Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

milkcow500 06-02-2016 07:33 PM

Yeah the setup is fine. I'm running S1 with the 340. Something has to be wrong with the install because my fuel pressure drops at the higher rpms.

Are you on pump gas Pauly?

Milkcow, is a 450 necessary for e85? I'm going to continue letting you be the guinea pig before I do anything to my G. I'll just purchase the Stillen kit and then wait on your results.

I really wish you would have dyno numbers on 93 octane and and e85 so I can determine if it is worth the extra.

Regardless, thanks for keeping us abreast. Best of luck on the build.
