Finally a full pull - congrats so far! Can't wait to see what you end up with!

wideglideleon 01-08-2016 03:10 PM

Good luck Brother.

BTW that look a lot better :)

I agree, I blew enough oil out of my vent plug at my last track day to run low and cook a bearing in the Supercharger. Bad design, but working on a solution to that plug.

Nice to see!
You're in the game Sir :tup::tup::tup:

Only to 6,500, we have more to go but didn't like the AFRs being over 13.

At least it's an encouraging sign that the engine is getting more air than the tune was expecting!

JWillis72 01-08-2016 04:46 PM

Tuner just looked at the log and says it looks way better. He is sending a new flash but this probably will be slow, he has cars he's working on at his shop. He is also coming down in two weeks so if we can get it working we can do so fine tuning while he is here.

Is the tuner Seb?

JWillis72 01-08-2016 04:57 PM

No, it's still the guy that started on it. We talked to Seb and would love him to tune the car but the car seem to have so many other problems we stayed with the original tuner. While I was very frustrated with his attitude early on he hasn't quit on us through this mess so I can't quit on him.

Something still isn't right, he worked on the AFR but it's still not making enough boost. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/16/01...ce5934df5c.jpg

Pressure test the system. Cap off the engine side with a PVC cap that will fit the diameter. Do the same at the supercharger side and tap a whole for an air-chuck fitting. Test away with compressed air if you haven't done it before.

JWillis72 01-08-2016 07:49 PM

We have, we are thinking it might be the headers now.

Rusty 01-08-2016 09:09 PM

It's been mention before in the forum that headers lower boost pressure with the Stillen SC. By how much, I don't know.

I agree and know that but I changed the sc pulley that should add 2-3psi and the impeller should add 15%. I can't imagine it not making mare than the 8 psi it did before.

I had the Stillen 9lb pulley + Vortech Impeller + PPI Long Tube Headers and made 11.9 lbs of boost.
Dyno'd @ 483rwhp and 378tq ... but it wasn't running quite right.
Blew the motor 1st time down the 1/4 mile when I lifted past the traps [12.3 @116.9]

Yeah its hard to believe that you would lose that much pressure from just the headers. No way. Is your BOV possibly letting some pressure out when it shouldn't? Obviously you didn't go to redline and would prob gain a pound or two more from 6500 rpm.

I would think that if the increased flow from performance headers were causing your drop in boost, you would still be seeing pretty high numbers on the dyno even with the psi down. Just thinking out loud.. I am not an expert.

Optimiser 01-08-2016 10:41 PM

I have Stillen headers, high flow cats and catback exhaust and achieved 380 whp with just under 8 psi boost and a completely stock Stillen SC setup/kit , but with Uprev custom tune.

We feel the same way. I still have the Stillen 9lb pulley to add more boost if needed but I still feel something isn't right on the car.

EVOHUNTER 01-09-2016 09:25 AM

Somethings not right, is your belt slipping?

it has to be really tight on this setup, like REALLY tight.

Too manyy Twists and Turns in the piping can also steal boost pressure.

This is true, but My Air to Air has more piping and more bends.

I made 7.7 psi at 5100rpm. Stock impeller with a 2.75" on blower pulley.

I don't think the piping/routing is the problem.

JWillis72 01-09-2016 01:02 PM

The tune so far has only been F/A adjustments, some time today the tuner is going to send us a flash with some timing advance do see what it does.

Is Harry tuning your car?

JWillis72 01-09-2016 02:27 PM

No, I really like Harry but I wanted the traction control options ecutek has and he only does UpRev.

TopgunZ 01-09-2016 07:13 PM

The timing won't gain psi. There's something else. If it were me there I would 100% no doubt put the Bosch bpv on and throw down a pull. That new spring could easily be a problem.

Where did you go fior ecu tek

TopgunZ 01-09-2016 09:17 PM

Yes. It will hold up to 11psi. It takes about 30 seconds to swap it on and try at least.

JWillis72 01-09-2016 09:45 PM

We will have to try that , thanks again!

ANMVQ 01-11-2016 11:20 AM

Better but what PSI are you aiming for 12?

JWillis72 01-11-2016 01:31 PM

Stillen Air to Air setup

Not 100% sure, with all the changes it should have been around 12 but that's going to drop because of the headers but we don't know how much. I just took of the BOV and installed the BPV on it but the tuning laptop isn't opening so it stopping us from running it right now.

Your build is finding new and creative ways to stay unresolved. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you!

JWillis72 01-11-2016 01:57 PM

I'm telling you this car is cursed!

Really hope that was the psi problem. Report back when you get it up and running.

JWillis72 01-11-2016 02:12 PM

I will even if I have to buy the shop a laptop! This Fn car is going to make power one way or another! I don't have much of a choice, my wife didn't buy my sales pitch for a C7 this weekend!

She said " fix the car you ruined so you can sell it first!". She knows how to hit below the belt!
