I'm in for Option 1 (already paid)

I saw these vents last year and was disappointed that they weren't going to be sold so, I'm very excited to see this. 30 people is going to be hard to get but the price is good and I think many people are going to like the design. Get the word out if you want to see these produced!

FYI FE Design's web site is up and running.

I just paid my deposit.

I am totally all in on this mod. It is a must if you want to optimize front in down force!

I have been following or should I say stocking these guys since Scruffdog used to post here on a regular basis. I saw these on the pictures they posted on Facebook and in the YouTube videos they would post from time to time and always wondered if they were going to produce them.

are you saying that this would inherently create downforce up front? or do you mean it'll help if you have splitter/flat bottom etc

It would help regardless. As they stated above the area in the wheel wells is a high pressure area which means a speed air gets trapped in there and acts like a parachute so to speak and cause some lift as there is no good place for the air to escape. The vent alone will not reduce this pressure unless the wheel well line is removed or an opening made for the air to escape through the vents.

Edit: I guess I should have said it increase aerodynamics and aids in downforce to be more precise with my statement.

Our car that gets driven often on the road and tracked often fortunately hasn't seen debris kicked up through the vents.

Closest experience was driving thru a huge pool of water at Laguna Seca and water shot up thru the vents at slow speed. Debris usually has some weight to it and kicks back towards the door than up.
Do you all have a picture of how your fender liners are modified? I'd really hate to remove mine completely because I've experienced the aftermath of a fender liner-less car and not trying to go that route again if necessary...

I have asked FE for some assistance with this. Hopefully they will provide us with some information.

Here's a picture of the fender liner on the Z. Only the rear half of the fender liner needs to be modified. With shears, it's relatively easy to cut thru, and there are existing fold lines that makes it easy to cut straight to follow.

Default Installation of Fender Vents

Here's a sneak peek at the installation for the Fender Vents for the prototype:

(1) Align 3D Template to fender.
(2) Cut the fender with rotary cutting tool. (i.e. Dremel, or cut off wheel). There's plenty of material the flange of the Vent covers. If you take your time here, it's pretty straight forward
(3) Optional: Spray paint exposed area
(4) Optional: Modify Fender Liner (only rear sections) with shears, it's relatively easy to cut
(5) Attachment of Fender Vents. (Choice of drill and use hardware i.e. Rivets, or Round Head screws or permanently bond to fender with epoxy, etc)

How do we keep track of the number of folks that have paid deposits. Is the $500 the total cost for the part, just need to pay for shipping?

That is correct.

Option 1 ($500 deposit) - This is the total discount price. Shipping cost is due before product is shipped
Option 2 ($325 deposit) - Another $325 + Shipping is due before product is shipped.

I will also generate a list of people who paid so far, but for privacy of customers, I will leave their names undisclosed.

We have 6 orders so far that's paid. There's a handful of people that are very interested but haven't completed check out yet.

If there's any concerns or questions that people are worried about, I'd be happy to answer. (for example a write up with pictures of the install, or anything we haven't addressed)

Also, if anyone here can spread the word to any 350z owners would be great. Thanks!
