I took the cling doohickey from the face of a new alarm clock (had bogus time and indicators printed on it) and cut out part of one of the digits. Stuck it on the dash lens so that it blocks the hi-beam indicator. I've had to replace it a few times after getting the car detailed but it works great. You could probably take an opaque marker to some cling film for the same effect.
