DIY: Weight reduction/Fix hatch not opening issue

I tried this (weight reduction and 2 nickels each side) and it worked for a while but now it won't fully open. Does anyone know where to get spring replacement

Does anyone know where to get spring replacement that's either bigger or stronger than stock?
