I joined this forum just for this thread. Getting my 2011 370Z (Touring, Sport Pkg., Nav. Pkg.) on Wednesday. This looks like a must-do mod if Brian is still selling these things. Just reading through the thread has been very useful. Now I just gotta figure out how to get my Valentine 1 hardwired, windows tinted, and flux capacitor installed...

Is the 2010 Roadster Bypass kit ready for order yet?

Also does it have the ability to enable the side mirror cameras??

Sorry, I thought I had already answered this; there are two version of the bypass kit: 1) Switch based and 2) Remote. The Roaster owners seem to prefer the the remote version because it doesn't require a blank switch plate (the one between the existing heated seat switches for most owners). Both kits are available and several have already purchased. With the switch based kits there is a waiting list because demand is slightly greater than supply

Do you mean add the side cameras? The bypass kit basically makes the car think it is in reverse, so what ever you get when you put the car in reverse is what you will get when you enable the cameras via the bypass switch.

I do have it on the list to see if I could "Add" side cameras, but it is low down the list because:
1) I have already established that none of the wiring is present, meaning this would be a major undertaking if even possible.
2) I think the demand would be low given the complexity of install and the cost.

I'm ready to order but I have a 2009. Anything special I need to add since everything on the site is listed for the 2010? I want the bypass switch & camera. Thank you.

Sorry, the 2009 is not supported.

For the camera solution search on Navtool and you will find the solution.

For the bypass there are two issues:
1) I've not been able to source the required the required 40 pin connectors
2) If you go the Navtool route the bypass has less appeal because the DVD bypass is not required you would just be getting the Nav Bypass and camera override if connected to the Navtool device.

Oh ok, I misunderstood then. No worries. My plan is to hook a PS3 as my DVD source, but will the NavTool still allow it to be displayed on the Nav screen while in motion & allow the reverse camera to be displayed in motion? Thanks!

Got mine ordered. Just waiting on delivery. I look forward to (gently) ripping my center console apart. Once I get it up and running I'll post confirmation that it works with a 2011 Nav with factory camera. However, since the wiring is no different than the numerous 2010 posts with the 2011 camera, I don't anticipate any problems. Thanks Brian!

Your kit will ship in the morning. There has been a couple of people already install the kits on 2011s with factory cameras. The only difference is you need to earth it because I include an extra power/earth connector with my camera kit that you will not have.

And the included instruction show how to do that right? I'm asking becuase I don't know what 'it' needs to be earthed. I'm sure I'll understand better when I see the kit. Does this mean I'm cutting factory wires? Part of the appeal of this kit was it being reversable for warranty work.

Done! Got it installed in less than an hour. Brian was even nice enough to provide a ground for the rear-video wire. Incidentally Brian, if you make another one like that you might want to make the ground wire at least as long as the wire leading to the toggle switch. I grounded it to one of the 4 bolts in the transmission boot area, but barely on the end of the fork. It was hard to get the bolt tightened with that grounding fork on there and there was a great place to ground next to the toggle switch but the cable just wasn't long enough. Just a small suggestion, I really appreciate you providing that extra piece.

The install wasn't too difficult. My only notes:

1. There's a black box on the kit which I'm guessing is a relay. It's not that big but finding a place for it behind the head unit can be tricky. There's a place behind the start button wire or the airbag wire it can easily fit. This really helped getting the head unit back in place properly.

2. GET SOME TOWELS. This is a biggie if you don't want to scratch your plastic pieces. If you have the manual transmission there are metal clips that hold the cover on. Unless you plan on taking the shift knob off, I recommend using a towel to cover the area just above the heating switches as that piece will move back and forth a lot as you remove the rest of the center dash, scratching the plastic. I discovered this about half-way through the install and took some damage. Nothing major, but it could have been easily avoided.

3. As long as you have the center piece off you might as well clean your LCD screen. It can be hard to get to the screen edges with the console in place.

That's about it. The kit works as advertised. Once you flip the switch back from VSS-bypass to normal mode the GPS only takes about 50-70 yards before it queries the satellite and gets your position correct again. Piece of cake. Buy this kit. Can't recommend it highly enough. Brian is the man!
