Yes I am alive (AK) and a few important THE370Z update

Hey guys,
Yes I'm alive!

I know. It's probably shocking to most of you guys but yes I am still here. First and foremost, I need to apologize for my lack of appearance and moderating on the forum

. Please accept my apology. This is NOT the AK you know. This is not how I ran this place. I have always been honest with you guys. That is why I am going to share with you whats going on.

Early this year, I had an opportunity to apply for something that I have always wanted to do. It's a really tough course to get through but I have been wanting to do this since 2006! It's about 1 year long and it is an accelerated course meaning they will be cramming two years of study in one. I applied for the course during early 2011 (yup, that's how tedious the selection process). Once my application was accepted, I was taking one test after another. Once the testing process was over, then I started the interview process. After 2 sets of interviews, I was one of the 7 candidates that was picked for this course out of 50 people! As thrilled as I was, I knew it would take some of my dedicated time away from the forum

. But this is something I have been wanting to do for a while. So, I started the course early September 2011. I am sure you have seen a sudden decline in my activity since then and I am very sorry

. I start my day about 5 am and it ends around 6-7pm. I drive close to 130+ miles a day. I did get a really nice Infiniti I35 (from dad) to put commuting miles. So Z sees about 260 miles a week (2 days a week). Also, Z just rolled over 43,000 miles and it's running stronger than the day I bought it

But I need to come up with a solution to this problem OR the forum will not be able to hold it's genuine characteristics. THE370Z is a unique forum than other Z forums and I need to keep it that way. I'm looking at couple of solutions. one is being me changing my schedule a little and giving more time to the forum. It's gonna be tough on me, but if I have to do it, I have to do it. The 2nd option I'm thinking is get few extra moderators to take some pressure off from me. It's a great option but I am VERY specific when it comes to giving power to someone. I will ONLY do it if I trust them 100% and know they their mindset is EXACTLY like my mindset. They will do the EXACT thing I would have done if it was me handling the situation. Because many times, whatever action they will take, members won't know if it was taken my moderator or me. So I have to make sure they are perfect candidate for the job. I haven't decided on the decision yet but I'm brainstorming.

Due to my lack of appearance, I have seen some things that I really didn't like :-/. I have seen members trolling in tech areas, people calling names or harassing people, people making irreverent threads etc and it had made me sad. That is not how THE370Z should be represented. I don't want this forum to be like those other Z forums. Trust me, you guys don't want that either! So, I will do anything and everything to prevent that. I have a small list of members that I am going to pm tomorrow sending them a "warning pm" to respect the forum rules. I am going to start temp banning or give members time off so that they don't disrespect the forum rules. As you guys know, I hate doing it but I have to do what I have to do to keep this forum running like the way it ran last 3 years.

Also, I should mention that my pm replying has been slow. I have been talking much longer to reply pm. I am really sorry. But I will ALWAYS reply to your pm if you send me a pm. Regardless if it's 1 hour later or 1 day later or 3 days later! If you send me a pm, I'll reply to it. So please do not get upset if you don't see my reply right away. Same goes for the reported pm. But this is temporary until I can either fix my sch to allow more time. Sometimes I get a lot of pm backed up (like this week) but I sit down and reply to each of them.

Sun is still around and she is cooler than ever!

She misses you guys. I Like to keep my personal stuff out of the forum therefore I won't say anything but she is doing well. I am going to ask her to come back to the forum but I may need you guys to make puppy face for me to her lol

Again, I'm really sorry for this change in my lifestyle. There's only 9 months left. All I am asking is to cooperate with me and I promise I will do everything in my power to keep running this forum as one of the highly respected forum on the net. We have just rolled over 28,000+ members with 1.3 million+ posts. It was possible because of your help, dedication and cooperation. Give yourself a pat of the back. If you see something wrong or someone violating forum rules, simply tell them they are doing wrong. Don't join them. Help us keep this forum the way it has been last few years

AK, things change in life. Sounds like you're pursuing something that's very meaningful to you...sounds exciting, even if the training is stressful. Good luck to you in your studies. Thanks for taking the time to update us. We understand that your focus needs to change for a while. I'm sure there's more than a few of us that are willing to help you any way we can...just let us know.

The forum may not be how you picture it but things are moving along regardless <<<( not irregardless that's not really a word ) ugh >> anyways Glad to see you are moving forward in life and still have the forethought to let us know what is going on. Love this forum More than any other I have ever been on. The people, moderators, and just the vibe from this forum is Mature, Fun, & Helpful. This is the only forum I financially contribute to because of that. AK do what you gotta do. Improving yourself is first priority. There are so many capable people here that can moderate and I'm sure you won't have any problem finding em.

+1... I want to know more about this class, but you just stated how you do a good job of keeping personal matter off this site. Either way, this forum has taken priority over all the others I vist...which is rarely nowadays
