RE11 is the better track tire. I have heard the PSS doesn't like extended periods of high heat. From what I gather, if you are a fast driver you can get the PSS to chunk towards the end of an HPDE session depending on how hot it is. The RE11 should handle that abuse better.

PSS is really a street tire that can reach up to near track-level grip whereas the RE11 is more track-oriented while still retaining good street driving characteristics.

PSS is going to be tremendously better than the RE11 in the wet.

RE11 is said to be pretty decent in wet conditions, but as it wears down I'd be weary of hydroplaning.

Really? Didnt tireracks data show the car to be 1 sec faster than the pss in the wet? on a 30 sec course!

I do spirited driving and maintin my tires pretty well and have 23k on both front and rear, However due to nissan sending my car out with + camber all the way around my outside tire is shot on both rears and have a cupping issue in the front. The toyo's i mentioned are good for 50k if you aren't abusing them on a daily basis (as any tire) and handle really well during rainy season. I have averaged 25 with my re050's. Michelin's I have always believed in but they are so damn expensive, one tire dealership quoted them as "damn near bullitproof" lol. To each their own...

Looks like 9 tenths quicker on the test track in the wet (different days and not the same test, however).

I'd still be concerned about hydroplaning with the RE-11s at speed, especially if they are half way worn. I know the Star Specs are not the nicest tires once they wear down some in the wet.

they probably arent the best, but I would still pick them over a lot of other tires. I did a track day in pouring rain. It held its own, I am sure 285 doesnt help

Michelin Super Sport gets my vote! Or even the KUMHO Ecsta XS are great street/track tire.

Im branching out and trying the RE760's. They got a high utq code on them but lookin for a little bit more mileage than the 140 or 180 that comes on the RE050. Anyone with experience with the RE760?

the rest of the story: I was pricing tires and I called my long time local "regular guy" tire place in Ft. Lauderdale.....BOOM...just so happened he had a used Bridge/Pot same size from a Z that was in last week with 1 blown tire....$106. and 30 minutes later I'm on the road again

BTW.......major plug for Jerry @ Tire Hut Sunrise Hwy in Lauderdale
