I see you're a Englishtown regular? I used to go there a few times a year until I moved here. Nice track! I just don't like how crowded it would get there.

The only negative thing about them is that its hard to launch in 1 st gear, and it will spin the tires between the 1st to 2nd gear shift and also from 2nd to 3rd. It works well on the 7 AT, but it hurts your gas mileage by 20 %. you turn and extra 700 rpm over stock @ 100 km.

the exhaust /headers come in about 3w weeks + tune...ima be all over u!! until u get the sc , that is lol

what rim/tire set-up on ur 12.8 pass?

Z eliminator 06-19-2010 08:17 AM

stock 19 inch sports set up bridge stone 275 45 19.
my preasure was 27 psig.

thanks guys. im going to try lowering the tires presure somewhere between 22-27 psi this coming friday and see if i can get off the line a little better

1000 - 11.174

It was a really typical SE Texas summer night, warm and humid! Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the tank was full of gas too!

I'm closing in on my goal of low 13's stock. I've gotten a little faster each time at the track this year. I'm finally getting better at launching the car, been hitting 2.0x pretty consistently now. Gotta work on my shifting next...

First time running the car with the Stillen oil cooler, so I guess I'm not 100% stock anymore? Maybe 99% stock? :icon17:

So I got some baseline numbers Saturday night. It was hot and humid! 85 degrees, 75% humidity, 29.96 barometric pressure, 19ft above sea level.

60': 2.245
330': 6.057
1/8 et: 9159
1/8 mph: 7970
1000': 11.783
1/4 et: 14.011
1/4 mph: 103.17

I'm very disappointed in my ET. I was happy with my MPH though. I'm pulling 22mph in the last 1/8 mile, so I'm not shifting slow. I just need to work on my 60' times. I averaged 2.0s in my G35, but that was with a unsprung 6-puck clutch. The stock clutch is soo light! It's a lot different to drive. I'm not a correction factor guy, but with the DA correction factor, it was 13.6 @ 106mph

Glad to see another 6MT owner posting some slips, Ryan. How's the track prep up there? And is Saturday test & tune runs?

I've got a few Z friends up in the Tampa area, might stop this month or next.

Bradenton usually has pretty good prep, BUT this was some event called "Street Heat". It was from 8pm-2am. It was advertised as being a street racing night at the track. It didn't seem any different than a normal test & tune night, except NOS was their giving out free energy drinks (love that stuff!) and there was a DJ. Normal test and tune nights are Thursdays and I think Saturdays. They have one Funday Sunday a month, too.

Bradenton is where I ran my 12.2 @ 116 in my G35. I will go back once I have my Stillen G3 intakes, Berk HFC, and HKS exhaust on. It's all sitting in my garage...along with 20" IForged wheels. I'm just waiting on my spacers and springs to get here now.

Cool. One of these days I'll stop by for a weekend, maybe do some runs on a new (to me) track.

You had me going until you said 20" wheels. :stirthepot:

Thanks! The track was really sticky last night, great launches the entire night. Normally I'd be complaining about wheelhop but all 5 launches were pretty clean (except the first).

My 60-ft times last night were:
2.164
2.009
2.005
1.988
1.997

The DA was killing my trap speed, it was 2000+ the entire night, right up until 11:30pm when I drove my last run. I usually average about 103mph throughout the night, but last night my average was 101mph. :icon14:

What was your mph? also any wheel spin as i really like those tires. How did they do over all?

My mph was 100.47. The track was very dirty from morning rains making it muddy everywhere so runs 1 and 2 were filled with wheel spin. Run 3 I kept traction control on for the run which held the spinning to a very minimum. I had a little spinning at first, shifted into second with a little more spin, third hooked, fourth hooked. I love these tires. They are so good on the street, in the rain, on corners, and on the track.

Z eliminator 09-28-2010 04:19 AM

My new torque converter should be here and installed by Oct 15. Can not wait to launch with a 3200rpm stall vs the 1800 rpm that my tires start to spin. it should go way faster that 12.8009. hoping for 1.8???? 60 ft times with the drag radials.

shouldnt be a problem if the DR hold to 3200 rpm launch. i may have to invest in a set, are yours nitto, bfg?

zeecarr 10-09-2010 03:31 AM

Just got back from Portland International Raceway:
2009 370Z Sport Package
7 speed auto
Bald OEM Bridgestone Tires
1/2 tank of gas
Fast Intentions Catback
No other mods of any kind
13.08 @ 106.43
Backed it up with a 13.09
Temp = 64 deg.
Elevation = about 30 feet
Hard to launch without lots of wheelspin.

I was thinking the bald tires would act like slicks, but wrong-o, they spun bad into 3rd gear on two runs (not the runs mentioned above). I never could get close to full throttle in first gear. I one foot drove the car. I used my right foot on the brake and stepped over to the gas, rather than 2 foot driving, when you have your left on the brake and right on the gas. Traction control off, manual mode active and paddle shifters used. I feel totally confident that less gas in the tank/better tires (slicks, or at least some tread)/better driver (one who isn't making payments on the car!) could get one to run high 12's. I'm quite sure. I can't recommend lowering tire pressure. It didn't seem to help me, it did set off the TPMS light, and might even have interacted with the ECU to reduce power. Hope this helps.

One_Quick_Z 10-09-2010 09:48 AM

Congrats on the Run!

Dont think the TPMS will reduce power output, I have lowered pressure before with out any side effect. I cant wait to go see my new times at the end of the month!

tranceformer 10-13-2010 11:34 PM

I went to the track tonight, made 5 passes. There was a 2 hour 'break' to clean up a mess from a bike. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...thumbsdown.gif

The DA's were about 1700 most of the night.

My best times tonight were:

13.657@102.7mph w/ 2.11 60'

13.675@102.2mph w/ 2.03 60'

13.759@102.9mph w/ 2.12 60'

I might have had a 13.4x or 13.5x pass but missed 3rd gear (I had a similar 330' time when I ran 13.495 a few months ago). http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...milies/doh.gif

Otherwise a fairly disappointing night at the track, but I'm gonna try to go back next week!

98intrigue 10-22-2010 12:01 AM

I'm pretty disappointed. With all the mods and tune that I have, I only managed a 13.5 @ 105mph tonight. That was with a 2.0 60' time. Stock, I trapped 103mph.

tranceformer 10-22-2010 05:38 AM

Just keep at it, Ryan!

tranceformer 10-23-2010 01:10 AM

Made a few runs tonight at the local track...

best run was:

13.493@103.91mph
2.09 60ft
DA = 1435

It's finally starting to cool off here! I normally trap 102.x mph but towards the end of tonight I was trapping 103.x mph.

Tell me about it...I'm not a very happy camper. My goal was to get the car in the 12s NA. Yeah, that's not happening!

And its not my driving capability...I had over 180 drag passes in my old G35. I managed a 12.2 out of only 350whp.

In regards to wheel hop, try lowering your tire pressure. My car had baddd wheel hop Thursday night at the track. You just have to play with the throttle a bit.

504 370z, what track did you go to?

You should go post on the South Louisiana thread in the southern region of the forum. There are a few of us who like to go to the track occasionally.
