Nitrous Help!!!

Someone please help!!!!!!

So I went to the 1/8th mile track tonight. Just motor 8.9*** and 8.3** with 75 shot of dry nitrous. Well this week I upgraded to a 150 shot wet nitrous and ran a 8.8**. Can anyone please explain This to me!?!?!?!? Jets sizes are .24"Fuel and .43"no2" and yes I tap my factory fuel rail. I should be running at least 7.5ish.

Thanks guys. We're all on the same page.

Yes, my technique is the same: brake on hard, throttle up, release, leave and floor it.

With the turbos the HP level has somewhat of a mind of its own. The hp and torque aren't directly related to foot pressure as it starts to build boost. So, you have to be careful to NOT get to the point of spinning at the line (or pushing you forward).

Each car has a bit different personality, but I'm certainly aware that my best 60' (1.86") is still sleepy. (Best street tire 2.09", best OEM torque converter: 2.05").

After this exhaust switch (soon) I"ll return.

Keep at it. I like this thread. :)

Got it, thanks! Looks like that point for me is around 2k rpm.

Good luck. It's always nice to see people take their infinitis to the track especially running 11's.

Those jets are closer to a 75 shot. What type of nitrous kit are you running? I'm running an NX kit with 54N 33F and its rated at 125 shot. Also have you dynoed the car on the spray?

5700lucas 08-13-2011 01:27 PM

No I haven't dyno it. Your right it is a 75 shot but I have two intakes so 75+75=150. Thank

Do you have an automatic? I went to Capitol Raceway like 2 months ago while still stock and posted a 13.5 when it was like 100* outside. You should definitely be able to do at least that much next time around. My best 60' times were a little over 2 sec there. Good luck!

something wasnt running well with you car on the topend that day. was there maybe some head wind or something? my g8 gt trapped 103 mph stock in 1800 DA and my 370z was way stronger up top before i got the g8 tuned. i would think you should atleast be around 104ish on a bad DA day.

2.235 60' was either spinning tires or soft launched.
with 2.080 60' I ran 13.39@103.9. I also hit a couple 13.6s/7s same day trying different launch techs and shift points.

Z-e: Good work. Chipping away at it. Any gains are GAINS. How many times we drive away without them.

I'm surprised that no one went to the Atco Nissan/Infiniti shootout this past Sunday? (I had a family engagement I absolutely could not change).

No one?

b1adesofcha0s 09-24-2012 09:31 PM

Great time! I'm hoping to get out there soon. I've got like 2/32 tread left in my summer tires before I throw my all seasons back on and I'm gonna use it for a GT-R club cruise this Saturday and at least one day at the drag strip.

Eighties Meta 02-15-2013 09:44 PM

I've never to a drag strip here in MD in my 370z but would like to at least once. Whenever one of you guys is heading up to 1 please let me know. I did run my 1997 z-28 at the Seaford, DE strip back in 2001 completely stock except for a borla exhaust and I remember it running 14.2 don't remember the trap speed though.

this car feel much faster, would love to know what it runs.

I guess I could probably use torque since I have the ODB II scantools.net scanner so I guess could enable logging and at least get a 1/8 tiime and trap speed at that point to sorta guess what it may be. I doubt I'd be able to run 0-110 or so without attracting unwanted attention but 0-80ish I may be able to somewhere just sucks it's so congested and difficult to pull onto highway or exit ramp and come to a complete stop then launch it.

b1adesofcha0s 02-15-2013 10:05 PM

I'm probably gonna go to Capitol Raceway soon, I'll let you know when. Capitol Raceway opens up on March 9th

You guys are so lucky mainland North America and Canada.

You guys got great conditions and actually prepped tracks.

Our track out here in Guam is a POS but its better than nothing.

Our track is not prepped at all. It's bare concrete/coral mix (no blacktop).

Our Density Altitude is 2338 ft. We have head wind constantly and year round temperatures of 80-100+degrees. Even at nights our temps are 80+ and relative humidity is always 70+.

Talk about every single factor working against us. :icon18:

Most people who come here military who ran their cars in the states have run .5-1.5 secs slower from their normal times.

Z eliminator 05-12-2013 11:54 AM

the track was closed today
high winds and 40 degress

not a good year to run the car

So I'm pretty dissapointed. I ran last night and the best I could do was a 13.8X @ 104 with a 2.1 60' (dont' have slip in front of me that's the best I can remember)

I have intake/exhaust. I thought for sure I would land in the low 13's. Any pointers for me?

would have ran better but the weather sucked

Did you take out the spare tire for the drag race?

Were you using 91gas? added octane boost or something?

12.93s it is really fast for a stock car.

Hard to hook-up when you are running over brown tree snakes I bet. Those suckers are slicker than dog ****.

Antistupid 01-16-2014 10:25 PM

Ill be making my first passes tomorrow. It should be around 45deg and the track is as close to sea level as I can hope for. No Problem Raceway

My 07 base ran 13.32s stock there. Now I have 275s in the rear and LSD... so Im wishing for a damn good number. Or Ill leave upset and hate myself.

KaienZ34 01-17-2014 06:05 AM

I went 13.0 last time i was at no problem, you should do fine.

Antistupid 01-18-2014 12:08 AM

Well, your optimism was nice while it lasted.
09' 370z sport, TCS off, S mode. 43deg about 70-75% humidity

R/T .4
60' 2.06
330 5.82
1/8 8.81
@ 82.5
1000 11.36

1/4 13.52 @ 104.1

Did 3 more runs, no changes other than my slowest 1/4 netting my highest trap. 13.67 @ 104.9

Didn't get a launch I was happy with and I tried a few things. Fastest run was w/ a 2k launch. No feather, just dump . Slowest was a 3500rpm feather
Track got pretty damp and my last run was a waste of fuel.
Im not happy with the times, the best track time for my stock 07' 350base was 13.32 @ 106.8 out of 5 passes. On that day it was 62deg w/under 50% humidity.
I just figured w/ LSD and 275s I'd pull a better time. But first time ever launching the car, hadn't really "practiced" prior. One more trip before modding.

PS I lined up next to a 3.7l v6 mustang w/tune and gears... he ran 13.64@102 I was impressed.

Mike

:icon18: I agree it's really difficult to hook up but that stigma that is shown on TV about Guam being overran by brown tree snakes are so overblown.

I'm originally from here and served active duty. When I left, everyone I came across said the same thing when I mentioned I was from Guam.

Most military that come here end up loving this place they never knew about. Whiles it's paradise outside of base and a great place to be at given the locations I was stationed at. The only downfall for a hardcore enthusiast is our track.

But before I left. There was no track and street racing was bad. I'm thankful for a track even for what it is. It's better than nothing. Before the track people claimed outrageous times and unbelievable mph traps lol. The track is at least a decent measurement of power. Since we have no dyno here as well :-(
