You got into the 12's without any mods. That's amazing!

When I eliminate the top 2 cars (because they are out of whack from the norm) from the modify list, the times of the moded/modified cars are almost the same as the stock class. That's just weird. Why is that so? Why spend thousands???:confused:

Well I know for my stock run it was the perfect conditions that day and especially that run. Temps were in the high 40's and track prep was good. Since then I've gone to a different track with much worse prep and just had a bunch of random different issues every time I went. I've gotten my trap speed up 2 mph to 109.5 with my mods, but I haven't been able to beat my time yet. 13.0 @ 109.5 was the closest I got and that was with all season tires. Now everything should be good to go and hopefully I can get a better time.

What mods do you have? I might be able to get you into the 12.7's...

this reminds me i need to post my time slip and get my name up on the board with my 13.01 @ whatever it was.

All my mods are in my signature. CBE, HFC, and G3 intakes are my only power mods.

Just wanted to make sure. It's easy for you to do 12.7. Here's how.
Your mph 109+ shows me a 12.7 car. When you don't have gears, like 4:08's, your engine RPM drops significantly after every shift, that's 2/10's right there. Also when you cross the finish line, you RPM in 4th gear should be close to 7,500 rpm or more. With no gears you're are crossing the finish line, I would guess at 6,600 rpm? By not using all the rpm, & NOT staying in the sweet spot(at highest WHP) you are loosing another 2/10's+ 2/10's. I'm sure your 60' is not in the 1.7, 1.8 range. With a good set of drag radials you can do that.

Soooo, gears & traction will put you in the 12.7's :) Simple!

Simple yes, but not gonna happen. Don't want to spend all that money just to get 0.2 seconds in the 1/4 mile. I'm probably gonna sell the car in a year or so anyway, so I'm pretty much done modding it. Straight line speed is nice, but I'm more trying to see what the Z is capable of in the handling department now.

when i go the track im also the only z there.
i usually take on cars that are a little quicker that me.
it makes it more interesting.
hopefully the track will be open here in 5 to 6 weeks.
one good pass hoping for 12.0's or lower N/A and off to put the SC in with the built engine.
Then we should see some good low 11's.
will have a few parts for sale then.
I miss Jnaut too, any body heard what he is up to these days.

me too, more focused on other hobbies now. i may get back in to the drag racing again some day, just not at the moment.

my car is definitely faster than the times I posted but with the mods I'd added it is a lot more fun than stock.

Apparently my lack of LSD appears to be ruining my ability to get a good launch, even after an Uprev Tune and new PSS tires. My best run that day was 13.15 @ 108 mph, but I hit the rev limiter shifting from 2nd to 3rd. My other 2 runs for the day were only worse.

Hey even a bad day at the track is still a good day :tup: I had a great time just seeing all the MAZOC guys again.

Buttttttttt setting my new personal best an then repeating it almost exactly (12.900) was a big bonus.

Altitude & humidity plays a big part. Are you at sea level? My best run stock was 13.67 and I'm AT.

I see you're in AZ.. maybe the dry desert air helps you? The track here was pretty bad last night and my tires are pretty worn too.. I was getting a lot of wheel spin.

I got my helmet this week and now that my lsd is on I'll be doing a few runs on sat. Now if I smoke em up its all driver error and nothing else but I' fully expecting high 12s. I guess I will live if it isn't but ill need a shoulder to cry on.
