The problem with doing it this way is the reduction of precision of the throttle input. What's the point of having a full pedal throw when you program WOT into the first 1/2 of the pedal travel. Which is why you don't see any tuners doing this. Obviously your tuner didn't even touch the throttle response because you definitely would have noticed a difference.
