If you only tracking it and planning to stay with akebonos, I’d recommend racing brake 2 piece rotors. Z1 did not work for me at all with carbotech pads.

I upgraded fronts to stoptech trophy 380mm and ferodo ds11 pads. Kept stock akebono in rear with carbotech xp12. Was worried with brake balance but it works great so far.

RacingBrake is the best one.

StopTech also has direct replacement 2 pc rotors.

DBA 5000

Or consider cryo treatment

RacingBrake! End of story. Been using them for a couple of years now with no issues. They are a direct fit for the sport brakes.

Frozen rotors. Never had issues with mine. I used to get lots of surface cracks with Z1 rotors a long time ago. I never tried others because these work and are cheap, even more so if you forgo slotting and the promo code fr2015.

For stock brakes, the Stoptech replacements for the Akebonos hold up well.
If you're willing to shave off some material from the stock caliper, I have a set of rotors using Wilwood 72 vane rings that also held up really well. Extra bonus being the Wilwood rings are also cheap.

I looked into Racing Brake but was skeptical on long term replacement rings, and haven't looked into Frozen before.

Unfortunately, the extra pad depth (2.25" vs 2") plus the bulky caliper design that has extra material that sits more inwards than necessary means a ton of great ring options just don't work for the Akebonos.

EDIT:
Another option I find interesting the Paragon's 2 piece kit
https://paragonbrakes.com/2-piece-ro...t-nissan-370z/
I have a set of their rotors I just bought for my Exige, which stood out due to vane count and air gap, which other OEM sized 2 piece rotors were worse on. I don't know much on how their rings hold up though.

Default z1 really track tasted it?..

Ok so it seems im not the only one here that had their Z1 two piece rotors warped and only after one track day...
Wish we could get our money back for the false statements that they are good for track days lol.

You aren't the only one, though I dealt more with mine cracking much earlier than other rotors I've had across the Z and other cars.
The warping feeling I got was more due to brake pad deposits, until they actually cracked and it felt like the most horrendous warping ever.

That's funny I have been running autozone/advance/amazon blanks (I can buy 5 sets of rotors for what you spent on one disc) for 10 years at the track and have never "warped" a rotor.

I bet you a $1 they did not warp. They were not bedded properly OR your front hubs need to be replaced.

Totally agree, Z1 2-piece rotors are totally garbage for track use. And I wish I knew "the false statements" before I gave them 3 chances.

I have some experience with Z1, DBA and Stoptech.
I wrapped 3 sets of Z1 2-piece in less than 5 track days.
DBA 5000 2-piece works slight better. But they still wrapped in about 5-6 track days.
The Stoptech OEM replacement rotors actually last the longest. I guess the extra weight helps the heat capacity. They last about 15-20 track days for me. And they are so cheap to replace.

Chiming in here about he Z1 2 piece. I had previously thought the same, more for showing vs going. But after redoing my brake cooling I'm not having issues with them any more. I want to say that the 370 ones are thinner than the 350 so they don't hold heat as well etc, but after redoing my stillen kit (moved the intake out from the "fang" area so its a better flow) 0 issues on the same rotors for a year, 4 full track weekends and a few single days. I'm assuming sometime next spring they will grow a serious crack vs the typical heat webbing and i'll replace them.
