I hope this isnt just transfer BS, I fuckin want this kid, ASAP. Hes 21 years old, kid could be an Arsenal legend one day. I see him as a direct replacement for Arsha when he decides to hang up the boots.

If we're going to get transfers done, we need a defender first! Especially with Kos out with concussion, and Vermaelen out until New Years...Squillaci and Djourou will be run into the ground at this rate!

But yeah...I caught one Wolfsburg game randomly on FSC, the kid is literally the German version of Lionel Messi. Pint-sized, but huge impact.

no doubt we need another CB, but Kos is out 2 weeks. Maybe we can sign someone on loan? Keep in mind, Song has played CB before and can handle the job if need be, Jacky can slot in behind Fab or Nasri as well, hes an excellent box to box midfielder.

I've heard of Marin, but never actually seen him play until today, I was watching some video and while small, he reminds me of Hleb in the way he controls the ball, and has a very quick shot. At 21, the kid will only get better. I hear Spuds and ManUre are also in the mix for his signature, which makes me want him even more.

phelan 12-06-2010 01:05 PM

Watch ManCity snap him up for 30 million now that three big EPL clubs are targeting him.

Sheikh Mansour's transfer strategy: "One EPL club interest? No. Two? No. Three? OMFG THROW MONEY AT HIM NOWWWWWWWW"

....yeah, so you can let them rot at the end of the bench. Or not even put all those egos on the bench. Although it is very refreshing to see Adeimawhore sulking.

Patrice Evra derisive over Arsenal hopes - ESPN Soccernet

cow 12-10-2010 08:09 AM

**** Patrice Evra. He's an embarrassment to France. He needs to take his overrated *** back to Senegal.

gladeslvrcoq 12-10-2010 09:27 AM

:icon18: Gooners to the rescue!!!! Evra has a point.....when was the last time Arsenal has won anything? Mondays match is going to show the fury of Arsenal because they know they have to turn around all of these years of nothing.....and they lose when they get mad. Too much pressure. It being a tight top 4 (possibly 5 if Spurs do in Chelsea) has put Arsenal in an advantage but if they can't capitalize then where will Arsene steer them? Carling Cup win? Woo-hoo....

phelan 12-10-2010 10:26 AM

evra has the 'dat ***' face going for him. which is nice. i guess.

other than that, thanks evra for reinvigorating my intense hatred for all things ManUre.

now, if the gunners can take all 3 points from them at old trafford, i want to see someone get a post-match comment from him. stupid ****.

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri, responding to Evra's remarks, said: "We are not children and we will demonstrate that on Monday. We will show Manchester United that Arsenal have really grown."
that's it. i'm getting a nasri jersey.

has anyone noticed how his form fluctuates on a month to month basis? one month the guy will be completely brilliant, then lapses into a lull. And as far as PK's are concerned, I dont wanna re-live that Fabregas incident, my god that was awful. I'm thinking Zidane Jr. will be taking them from now on.

The problem with these owners is they think they are managers as well. They really have no knowledge on running a successfull club when it comes to squad depth, training, physios, and even the fans. Fans play a huge part. We have seen it with Newcastle lately and you can see it in the big debt clubs like Liverpool and MUFC where the owners came in and just splashed money around not really klnowing the background and the game. Man City is looking like a circus and I think in the next few years, that tent will come down as well.

I'll be off to the Olde Ship in about an hour! 2-1 to the glorious United!

glades while I agree with you about the owners, this quote from the LMA representative had me laughing for a while. Embracing new concepts? Progressive and forward thinking?

How the f*ck is an Allardyce club forward thinking??? It's hoof long throw ins and crosses to the biggest, loudest, and most aggressive defenders you can find and hope for a header!!

God I want to take a half day to watch the Arsenal match :(

COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!!!!!!

edit: word is we get Szczesny in goal!! this is make or break for him, if he puts in a good shift, then he could be really pushing Fabianski for the No. 1 already!

too bad about the hero, Manuel Almunia, who is destined to leave us in January though :(

Red370 12-13-2010 12:13 PM

Song is going to have to be HUGE today. With Fab out, I have a feeling Diaby will get the nod over Wilshere for his physical presence. Fletcher and Anderson are going to be a handful physically, so AW's probably going to shift to a more neutral attacking formation with emphasis on defense in the midfield with the wings pushing forward. My anticipated 11:

Pollock

Sagna - Squill - DJ - Clichy

Nasri - Song - Diaby - Arshavin

RvP

Chamakh

Red370 12-13-2010 12:16 PM

Match finishes in a 2-1 win for the Arsenal, game winner scored between 80-90, set piece, Song with the header. Nasri opening the scoring, 30+ minutes. Rooney for ManUre.

phelan 12-13-2010 12:19 PM

wait, is diaby even fit?? i thought he didn't pass physical!

Szczczczczzccesny(R)

Sagna - Squid - DJ - Clichy

Song - Wilshere

Nasri - RvP - Arshavin

Chamakh

Walcott on bench if needed. I don't think 4-4-2 is going to cut it against ManUre. That, and I didn't see a good partnership last time chamakh and RvP were up there together. Looked...haphazard, to say the least.

Goal.com thinks SAF is rolling out the 4-5-1 formation and dropping Berbs from the starting XI, and rolling out the old guard of Giggs and Scholes. That'll be interesting, given they're both old returning from various injuries. Park gets dropped as well.

Huh.

Anyway I don't want to get drawn into a guess to the final score. I want a good match though, AW needs to make sure this team doesn't fold if it concedes first. Evra's comments should've irritated them enough to want this as bad as the fans want it.

Huh.

Is he hurt? when the eff is he not? I'm not sure if AW would start Jacky, I figured he'd leave him on the bench because its such a pivotal match and wants all the experience on the field as he can get, although Jacky is a stud and is work rate is HUGE, hes a bit undersized against ManUre's midfield.

phelan 12-13-2010 12:25 PM

He's been out for a while now dude.

If he starts Denilson in front of Jack, I'm going to burn something.

HERE WE GO BOYS!!!

Szczesny

Sagna - Squillaci - Koscielny - Clichy

Song - Wilshere

Arshavin - Nasri - Rosicky

Chamakh

Cesc is on the bench for emergency purposes?

NOT happy Djourou has been dropped.

"Who put the ball in the Arsenal net? Arsenal net...Arsenal net?!?!"

Gotta say it wasn't as exciting as years past and holy sh%t Rooney...WTH? I about fell off the barstool on that one. Clichy got raped a number of times and Chamakh and Nasri got shut down right proper. Szcecny showed great promise in goal as well but damn you can't deny the fact that United's defense is rock solid.....I got nervous when Theo came on and Arsenal owned the last quarter of the game with their attacking. Anyway...Boddingtons was flowing well after the game had ended.

Am I the only one that thinks we need to sell Rosicky and get another AM in his stead? The man hasn't scored a goal since I was born.

I vote we swap Rosicky to CSKA Moscow for Honda  haha

cow 12-14-2010 10:36 AM

Funny you say that-- a friend of mine just picked up FIFA 11 & was saying he was signing Honda to Arsenal.

I have faith in Rosicky. I think as soon as he finds the net, he'll be back.

phelan 12-14-2010 10:47 AM

yeah, i just started my career mode as manager. first thing i did was mimic all of our loan moves (i.e. mannone out for the season, ramsey out short loan), sold rosicky...

and i'm still trying to get honda  haha
