Harry Redknapp: Arsene Wenger has become one of the 'nutters' - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

hahaha, that twitch video seems so appropriate.

cow 09-25-2010 08:04 AM

How he got it, we don't know. How he got it, we don't care.

cow 09-25-2010 10:56 AM

ugh

Red370 09-25-2010 11:09 AM

what an embarrassing loss, Almunia was brilliant on the pk save, but he was awful for the other two, what a horrible loss for us, i'm at a loss for words. What pisses me off more is the fact that we wait 70+ minutes before we finally start playing attacking football, im disgusted.

Red370 09-25-2010 11:10 AM

and in front of the home fans. simply inexcusable.

cow 09-25-2010 11:34 AM

Almunia was said to be carrying an elbow injury. Still no excuse for his positioning or the ball bouncing off him.

Nasri was great, but hardly anyone else was on his level.

I'm getting drunk today.

phelan 09-25-2010 12:19 PM

mmmm at least chelski lost.

sp*rs lost as well

manchester united now has a chance to go up on everybody

kinda glad i had that morning beer...

Red370 09-25-2010 12:46 PM

they all (save nasri), played like they were lethargic, like they had nothing to contribute to the attack, Song was AWFUL, Clichy wasnt terrorizing the left flank and whipping in crosses, the little russian had one of the worst performances i've seen him have, they just didnt look cohesive today, they were lacking that final pass, Fab was needed today, terribly.

phelan 09-25-2010 12:50 PM

i really wish sp*rs didn't push to extra time. wilshere played with a bit of fire. anybody else on board with thinking he's earned his first team spot??

I would have liked to see him start, I think he would have given the first half and the team for that matter, the much needed spark to get on the score sheet, the team became much livelier when he came on. I think hes earned a place, but I doubt AW will ever start him over Nasri, but i'd take him over Diaby any day. Song is pretty much a fixture being that hes the only real defensive minded midfielder we have. I think after today, AW is going to have some tough decisions to make for next week.

cow 09-25-2010 01:05 PM

cow is on board.

I thought Clichy played OK-- he stayed home defensively, which everyone wanted him to do. If he could combine today with his usual offensive contribution, he'd be fine.

agreed, we were missing those low, hard crosses from the left all day, I felt he needed to get more into the attack, we were lacking in attack today and I think that may have been one of the pieces that was missing.

Fabregas could miss Chelsea clash - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

Oi vay. I almost wish they'd declare him unfit now & give him a longer chance to recover, rather than rushing out & losing him for six months.

International break next week & we know he won't play a full match for Espana, so he could potentially have almost two extra weeks.

Jon@AAMComp 09-30-2010 01:19 PM

Everybody ready for Derby day this weekend?

If there's one club that can be guilty of splashing huge money this year, it's City. They're lining up to sign Pato from Milan and they're prepared to pay 65 Mil Euro for him:

Milan To Sell Alexandre Pato To Manchester City For ?65Million & Buy Steven Gerrard & Javier Pastore With The Cash - Reports - Goal.com

I can see Pastore signing with Milan, as they need to reinforce their aging midfield, but I can't see Stevie G leaving Anfield any time soon, especially not for the Serie A. There was a rumor a while back that he might end up in the Bundesliga, more specifically trading Liverpool red for Schalke blue, but for some reason, I see him finishing his career at Liverpool.

I didn't even think he's playing for Spain during the break. I think del Bosque left him off the squad because of his hamstring injury.

And yes I'd rather them not rush Fabregas. I don't want Fab's last game for the Arsenal to end in a crippling injury.

I can see Man City pulling a Leeds United when their oh-so-rich owners suddenly find out they ran out of money. And still have no trophies to show for it :rofl2:

AS I WRITE THIS - Juventus has pulled ahead of Man City, it is now 1-0 to the visitors. HELL YES JUVE!

Gerrard will stay with Liverpool if the club is still somewhat competitive. Problem is...they're not right now. They're absolute garbage. They just pulled a 0-0 draw with FC Utrecht, for crying out loud. There is NOTHING inventive in the midfield without Gerrard, and Torres has been horrible. Based on Liverpool's debt woes, Torres and Gerrard may be sold and the entire 'rebuild' may get kickstarted.

Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas to miss Chelsea showdown - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

phelan 10-01-2010 10:08 AM

Wilshere will step up, as will Nasri, but Drogba against our backline? 3-1 to the Blues.

cow 10-01-2010 11:08 AM

I wonder how much longer Drogba will kill. He's 32-- most non-goal keepers are starting to decline by then.

phelan 10-01-2010 11:31 AM

I think he's got a new lease on life since he had that groin surgery. He's been playing held back for a while, so now he's basically 100%. I think that'll give him a few more years playing at the highest level.

Amazing the difference between Wayne Rooney and Didier Drogba right now. Thank god I dropped Rooney for Drogba early in fantasy?

phelan 10-03-2010 10:41 PM

Well we went down fighting against Chelsea. Plenty of good chances to win it though, it's a shame we aren't efficient with our chances. It's also mildly amusing that we couldn't manufacture an Arsenal-esque goal. All of our chances really came off of headed shots. Go figure, eh? Chamakh is a BEAST, but could use a bit more of control. Arshavin is hot and cold, as usual. Wilshere played very well but did not make the impact that the big game required from him. Song is...uh...I'm not sure.

And good god, we need TV5 back RIGHT NOW. Squillaci can't cope with the Drogbas and Rooneys in the EPL. For mid-table he's fine, for the top tier games we can't use him.

Seven points back of Chelsea, ManCity and ManUre are ahead of us, but I am reasonably satisfied with Arsenal's performance today. They played their hearts out (except the defense gave a few head scratchers), and it was a brilliant game to watch. Drogba had an impossibly small window to hit, and he did so. Alex's rocket was ridiculous. Well earned win for the Blues.

WITH THAT SAID...at least we aren't Liverpool. God, how the mighty have fallen. 2-1 to Blackpool? It's a good thing this is their theme song, or they'd all be sobbing right now...

I watched the france game on saturday and I must say, Blanc has the team brimming with confidence, and I hate to say it, but the difference maker, Nasri. They didnt score while he was on the pitch, but he was carving the defense up with ease, and his would be assists led to the most dangerous chances of the match. Thank god that idiot Domenech is out. The looked like a completely different team out there, heres hoping they go deep into the Euros.

Wow, just checked what you meant about Italy vs Serbia. Holy poo.

phelan 10-13-2010 12:07 PM

one of the italian players was mentioning that's why Serie A stadiums are only half full b/c people don't want to deal with hooliganism.

but the Italian fans seemed pretty mild mannered, it was the away squad that was jacked up...so :wtf:

cow 10-13-2010 01:57 PM

Italians have had some pretty ugly incidents with ultras in recent years.

Interlulls are over!

Arsenal get everybody but RvP and Fabregas back, it sounds like. And Ramsey looks good in his initial light training. I'm happy for him. Really.

Drogba got himself sick though. Why couldn't he do that when we were playing him, haha

I'm effin pumped to see Theo back in action, i'm also curious to see how Nicky B is doing, hes in the best condition of his career according to the boss, so we'll see. I'm hoping we'll see some good combinations between Jacky and Nazzy tomorrow. Theo is going to be a terror down the right.

Have any of yall bought Fifa 11' yet? and if you did, do you hate the passing system as much as I do? I'll be on a break away with a man to my right and left, i'll hit the through ball and it'll go to the opposite guy I was directing my stick at, then if you switch to manual or semi, its almost impossible to complete an accurate pass.

phelan 10-15-2010 01:06 PM

yeah the new pass system is tough at first, but i'm getting used to it little by little. i actually feel a little rewarded when i get that through ball just right, and i get an easy goal out of it.

fifa11 made it harder to chip the goalkeeper though. fifa10 let me chip one in from midfield :rofl2:

cow 10-15-2010 02:52 PM

I'm glad I'm not the only one having issues with the passing. I'm getting used to it, but there's been plenty times I've given the ball away when I was trying to pass to a guy somewhere else.

I find holding the stick a bit longer helps immensely.

I've also noticed that its significantly more difficult to round the keeper in a 1v1 situation too, in 10', a quick stepover and drag to the left or right would leave the keeper in the dust, now they almost anticipate the direction that your going. One thing that I do appreciate though is the fact that putting bend on the ball is much easier. I played a good bit today and found that my passing is getting much better, I found semi and manual is too difficult. Overall its pretty much the same game with a more fluid movement style than 10', i've even noticed that some of the commentary is the same, lazy bastards.
