Only team I ever follow:

http://u.goal.com/26600/26671_news.jpg

i really hope they make it this year... it has been a while since 1986... but knowing how the fubol gods work... They again end up in a hard bracket... while the Brazilians walk through playing worthless teams.

If brazil wins another one I quit watching the sport.

Argentina is in a rather favorable group this world cup. They should come out on top of their group with opponents like Nigeria, South Korea, and Greece. Although one of those teams might be a surpise Argentina should cruise to the knockout stages.

Brazil however isn't that lucky, they drew the group of death along with Portugal, Ivory Coast, and North Korea...it should be a lot harder for brazil progress. You never know, they might not pass the group stage.

Chupacabra 05-07-2010 10:13 AM

Ill give you Portugal...

North korea will not be a threat... and the ivory Coast while an incredible team is no where near brazil or portugals level...

phelan 05-07-2010 10:13 AM

I'd still put Brazil to progress, along with Portugal. Ivory Coast has a shot, but I'm not exactly confident in that team to get past Brazil. And NK is that group's bitch lol

They actually labeled group D as the group of death with Germany, Serbia, Ghana, and Australia....The reason Brazils isnt is because North Korea is a joke.

phelan 05-07-2010 10:42 AM

i'm looking forward to group e. i love the netherlands team (well...okay, i love certain personnel on that team), but i'm still partial to the japanese team.

never mind that the blue samurai won't do sh*t this world cup, but oh well.

so i guess i care about...group c, group d and group e, lol.

Oh wow that's true, when I watched the draw the analysts were calling brazil's the group of death. But I guess after some thinking they changed their minds haha

ya if it weren't for North Korea it'd def be the group of death. Either way that group is going to be very fun to watch

wishihadnav 05-07-2010 10:58 AM

only way n korea will win if they drop a nuk on brazil..haha

Then you have to ask yourself, is anybody really on Brazils level??

They will always be heavy favorites in any world cup. But if the Ivory Coast can draw against them and get a win against portugal or vice versa anything can happen. And the ivory coast is one team that can beat any team in the world if playing well.

Plus it is on African soil

Auston 05-08-2010 12:20 PM

I'm a fan- I wish Sweden would have made it, but very glad the US is in

Nope, apparently it's the most popular sport around the world. It is estimated that 2.8 billion people around the world will watch the world cup.

And then I guess occasionally teenage girls watch it

Yeah there are teams on Brazils level. Germany is, Spain is, there are teams on their level. If you're talkin about the teams in Brazils group than no.

US will advance. If they beat England they will deff be 1st in the group. I think it may be a draw though. Either way US will make it through.

I didnt mean it literally, Portugal is on their level and in their group. Like I said before it's possible that the Ivory Coast can beat them as well.

Mark my words men, the Oranje will take it.

:icon18:damn you and your bets!

I dunno what it is man, i've always really appreciated the way the dutch play, so technical, so precise in their passing, excellent close control, they remind me of Brazilians but white haha, they just have so many world class players.

I'm hoping and praying Seedorf gets a call up, have you seen him playing for milan? i seen the guy a few weeks ago weave through about 5 defenders like it was nothing, and lets not forget that rifle attached to his leg.

cow 05-09-2010 11:09 PM

I almost bought a Van Persie jersey today, but decided not to for no good reason. When I was three, we had a Dutch exchange student live with us, so I've always had a soft spot for The Oranje.

RVP is a effin stud, period. When a guy comes off the bench and changes the game instantaneously, you know they're simply world class. I actually ordered an RVP Netherlands jersey from eurosport yesterday, while of course I'd be happy if Germany or the USA (longshot) win, I'm going with my gut on this one, the dutch simply play amazing football and i cant wait to watch them.

I probably would have gotten one of his by now, but hes been linked with Barca these past few years and I dont wanna feel like a douche for wearing the jersey, much like I did when I bought the new gunner savior "Jose Antonio Reyes" jersey, asshole, comes to england and cries about how it rains too much, dude was class on the pitch though. And whats worse, its the Maroon Anniversary long sleeved jersey, should have gotten it with RVP or Fab.

cow 05-10-2010 05:58 PM

I'd never wear a Reyes jersey because dude was still nursing from a midwife at like 16 years old.

Nah it was on Saturday. Probably saw the replay though.

Red370 05-11-2010 05:16 PM

so the US named its world cup roster, same names and faces we've all seen, no Jermaine Jones (which is beyond me), now he'll probably play for germany. CD left off the roster, which I can see why, but Bradley's dumbass took Brian Ching, are you f'ing serious? Somebody fire this idiot and hire a european coach... the name Guus Hiddink comes to mind...

phelan 05-11-2010 05:31 PM

At least he was smart enough to see Edson Buddle is playing out of his f*cking mind right now.

But yeah, Ching is just recovering from a hamstring injury, and he's old, so wtf at that Bradley?? If you're going to bring a washed up old dude just recovering from a hamstring injury, why the hell not take a chance on Charlie Davies?!

Bradley is probably going to stick with a 4-4-2 formation, so I could see Altidore supporting Buddle up front. I just hope I never have to see Ching start a game.

Dasnow 05-11-2010 05:49 PM

It,s wide open

My fav team going in is England but after that I would have to go with the US. German soccer style is just not for me.

I just hope we never have to see him play a minute in the finals...unless were up by 7!!!

Ching=Fail

And if we stick to the 4-4-2, I would really love to see Dempsey and Altidore as the pair up front.

Jon@AAMComp 05-17-2010 04:33 PM

Can someone tell me why this man is not starting for his country in South Africa?

This summer, I'll be supporting the US team. Our group seems fairly straightforward with the exception of England. Their squad is stacked this year, and they finally have a decent coach. They'll be really tough to beat.

I saw some other people predicted the Dutch will take it this year. I have to agree. They will at least make it to the semis. The Netherlands squad are loaded this year.

blue660r01 05-17-2010 04:43 PM

I;ve been wondering why he isnt in the squad for a long time.

Ballack is gonna miss the WC now

phelan 05-17-2010 05:24 PM

Netherlands still looks like a good bet to go deep!
