Since I've been watching, they've looked dangerous.

phelan 09-21-2010 03:37 PM

he's been playing gritty football tonight for sure, hes gotten up and over Pavlyuchenko, and hes 6'3, saved a goal, and has had solid challenges all match, very impressive. I'm also impressed at how much Gibbs has shut down Lennon, that kid is an up and comer for sure. Arshavin looks like his heart isnt in the game and Nasri looks like the few weeks hes been off has affected his game a bit, he looks off tonight. The only chance I see of us scoring is off a set piece.

Red370 09-21-2010 03:44 PM

Im not so sure about that penalty, that looked a bit soft but I'll take it.

Red370 09-21-2010 03:48 PM

2nd penalty, spot on.

cow 09-21-2010 03:49 PM

lol @ the fans leaving

stupid spuds

cow 09-21-2010 03:50 PM

Man, I'm rewatching this match when I get time tonight.

Red370 09-21-2010 03:53 PM

I must say, I know that the Carling cup is basically a chance for the bench players to get some time on the pitch, but this Lansbury guy really hasnt impressed me at all, his passes and trapping have been horrendous, good goal but it was a tap anyways.

phelan 09-21-2010 03:55 PM

aaaaagh, gibbs is hurt

i wanted JET to play, not lansbury lol

cow 09-21-2010 03:58 PM

Arshavin! Hopefully he'll get his head together.

phelan 09-21-2010 04:00 PM

AA tries when the game doesn't matter rofl

Koscielny is a beast. I gotta get a chalkboard going of his efforts. He's won like...EVERYTHING.

cow 09-21-2010 04:04 PM

There's a site that keeps track of every statistic you can think of. I'd like to see Kosc's challenges/ headers won vs los tonight. I've not seem him put a foot/ head wrong. His stop on Lennon was great.

I'm going to get a new away kit (remember I got my RVP #11). It's going to be either Rosicky (I feel bad I've never had one of his), Kosc, or Chamakh.

Ya know, I havent seen any of you mention getting a Wilshere jersey, this kid is hella talented and is only on the rise, I think my next may be his!

Red370 09-21-2010 04:10 PM

the commentator likened his style to that of Paul Scholes, and to be honest, I think hes pretty much spot on with that assessment, he does remind me of a young Paul Scholes.

:iagree: his tenacity on defense and his short quick passes remind me of Scholes, while his one/twos and cheeky cutting passes remind me of Fab, hes going to be one of the England greats for sure, I hope he doesnt pick up a career altering injury which seems to be a common occurrence with our youngsters :shakes head:

Red370 09-21-2010 04:15 PM

wow, that switch cross field ol' Jacky just played to Lansbury was pure brilliance, he hit that with the outside of his foot. Reminds me of me

phelan 09-21-2010 04:15 PM

rvp just needs to teach him how to finish, and bloody hell we could have a legend on our hands :rofl2:

as long as robin doesn't impart glass ankles onto the kid lol

red did you see wilshere's pass earlier in the match? he tried to be ronaldinho lol. look one way while passing the other? he gets that down, it'll electrify the entire EPL.

cow 09-21-2010 04:19 PM

I'll wait til Jack's 21 to buy his jersey. I don't want any misunderstandings with the law.

yeah, one thing Jack needs to do is buckle down on his shooting, he had a few chances today that he squandered. He took them first time instead of faking and cutting across the goal (a personal favorite of mine). As far as injuries go, he took alot of knocks today, he looks to be much sturdier than our friend Robin. And yeah, I seen that, hes brimming with confidence that kid, hes soaking up all that playing time AW's been giving him and loving every minute of it, you can just tell by how he plays.

shyt man, i hope he'll be ok, its not that HUUGE of a blow because we have Clichy which i'd say is Gibbs exact likeness, but it would definitely suck. And i'll admit Phelan, Nasri did go down kind of easy lol, Smack's PK was deserved but Nasri's seemed a bit soft.

soft PK makes up for keane's offside goal, and spuds continually trying to break wilshere's legs with those idiotic challenges. f*ck tottenham!

[/arsenal fanboyism]

lol everton crashed out of the carling cup. what the hell is wrong with that team right now??? they're useless offensively, and tim howard is getting no help from his defense.

owen coyle = lulz back @ burnley. 1-0 to the championship league side. i bet that must've been hell to sit through if you're OC or a bolton fan.

good to see alex hleb back in the EPL. just don't want him scoring against his old side lol

The whole Alex Hleb thing still makes me cringe, that guy was peaking with us before he left, he was on a tear and playing the best football of his life, I cant believe AW let him go so cheaply and to BARCA of all people. And yeah, Keanes weak shot was definitely taken in an offside position, and Fabianski is garbage for sure. Everton lately has turned a bit stale, and as much as I hate to admit it, Landycakes, though he was only there for a short time, added some life to that team, they played more attacking football when he was there, they were actually fun to watch. And I must say, Timmy has let some soft goals through lately... wonder if that Tourettes is getting to him...

Sandro that dirty son of a bitch, dude was taking chops at Wilshere all day, I think he was getting pissed that a kid was embarrassing the shyt outta him.

Red370 09-24-2010 11:43 AM

I will say fellas, Arsene, while being a tightwad has its drawbacks, I think we're the only club in the EPL that isnt balls deep in debt. And now we have $40 mil+ to buy in the January transfer window, i must say, I wouldnt mind Montolivo coming in, and we'll definitely be buying a keeper, thats for damn sure.

Sparkling Arsenal financial results reveal Arsene Wenger will have biggest ever January transfer kitty of £40m - Goal.com

phelan 09-24-2010 02:14 PM

Montolivo! That'd be awesome. Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky, Nasri, Montolivo in the midfield? I'd love to add Fabregas there, but still not comfortable about beyond this season.

If Sczesny walks, we could theoretically go for Igor Akinfeev or Hugo Lloris again. Especially b/c Lyon sucks right now lol.

No doubt, our midfield will be pretty unstoppable, if we could have a consistent goal scorer that stays healthy, there isnt a damn excuse we could give for not winning the champions league. Yeah, Lyon isnt shyt anymore, thats what happens when you sell all your best players to Spain. What a flop Benzema turned out to be though huh?

phelan 09-24-2010 04:22 PM

Benzema was a very bad boy, then he got stuck in Real Madrid...uhhhhhh oops lol

Maybe Mourinho can revive his career.
