What a cheeky goal from Song, twas a thing of beauty. Excellent match for the gunners, Koscielny made a costly mistake early which makes me nervous about him, especially when the bigger clubs come to play. Squillaci looked unsure at times as well, you could definitely tell that Verms was missed on the day. Glad Smack got back on the scoresheet, excellent well placed header. And Fab was ridiculous today, his passes were cutting, sharp and precise, i'm going to miss that next season :(
|
Koscielny will be alright. I'm telling you, he's growing into his role quite well. And he doesn't look too spindly to me right now either. He was in a great position for his first goal, so credit to that. Squillaci is only playing his 2nd 90 minute game for the Gunners, but he is showing great poise in the back, he and Verm may be my go to starting CBs, with Kos off the bench for now.
Fab as usual, leading by example. I'm rockin' my jersey today for good reason  and credit to VELAAAAAAAA, on the scoresheets!!! btw I've been saying forever Gibbs deserves a chance. Kid did very well today. I want him starting over Clichy right now. |
|
hey fellas, this is a really long video, just highlights from the game against bolton, but I was watching and I couldnt get over how amazing Fab's passes were, its going to hurt us bad when he goes, I havent seen passing like this in a long long time. And that outside foot pass Rosicky hit for Arshavins chance was ridiculous.

and in the video the commentators and the guys talking at the end say that Cahills challenge was a yellow, and i'm going to have to disagree, if you look at the challenge, not only was it from behind, it was with both legs and studs up, according to my handy dandy FIFA referee book (i referee JV HS soccer games), thats a straight red card, regardless if he had the slightest touch on the ball. Cahill knows thats a no no and the referees have been instructed to enforce that at the highest level, both legs, studs up, behind, you're off and thats that.

God damnit now I know why I never come to this thread anymore.

So uh, I was one row from being in the picture:

I wish they had a picture of the canvas the "small man" gave to Henry. It was really really impressive.

God that's awesome. I'm going to watch the Galaxy v. Red Bulls game on the 24th. Hopefully some of the CA Gunners contingent will make it out too
|
I was already planning to go to the match & then found out about the event. The Red Bulls match was fun, but I had a better time at the bar watching the Arsenal match & then taking the train to the station.

6-0
:) |
With Madrids starting lineup adding Khedira and Ozil there is no excuse if they dont win the treble.
|
Cow....Nevada Smiths?
|
wtf has gotten into Vela lately? dude is on a fuckin tear, i'd say move the Russki onto the left side of the midfield and pair him up top with Chamakh, his form is ridiculous lately. I think the training hes had with the Mexican nats has helped his game quite a bit.

Welcome to Blind Pig BAR Cool place-- they show every CL match, but it's Arsenal NYC's home, so you may be out of your element. Still very worth checking out. Quote:

fabregas injured...??? er...
|
It was such a fluke. I don't think it was too serious.
|
thoughts on if that penalty miss is going to haunt rosicky and knock him off form?
|
I think he'll be fine. He had a good game otherwise. He & Nasri were really holding possession well despite being down a man. I wish Denilson had either laid off that ball or taken it to the corner to kill some time.
But yeah, I think Rosicky will be OK. |
Messi only has a sprained ankle. When I saw the challenge, I thought it was over for him for a while.
http://estaticos01.marca.com/imagene...9/20/g2009.jpg It looked even worse at full speed. |
oh god that picture is NOT pretty. how that's only a sprain is beyond me. his ankle must be made out of rubber instead of bone
btw, i'm now thinking we're in bad shape not because of our centrebacks, but because of our left back. i've been saying clichy is our weak link, and he's showing it a little. very positive forward running, but horrific defensively. |
He plays defense well for *most* of the game, but always seems to have one or two screwups that fcuk us.
|
|
okay aliens, can you give dimitar berbatov back to man. utd. now? your alien replacement is scary good...too good...
people will know he's an alien, you know!!! |

I've been watching the Arsenal v. Tottenham match today, a few things i've noticed, Jack Wilshere is growing up before my eyes, this kid is playing passes that people like Stevie G and Frankie L play, accurate, with pace, its crazy that this kid is still 19. He assisted the goal Lansbury scored with a low hard drive right at the 3 yard area, it was amazing. Also, Djourou and Koscielny better never be a partnership in a big game, Kos has been great, but you can tell the communication between the two isnt there, almost a back pass onto Bentley's run, a few errant passes, no bueno when playing the likes of Chelsea or ManUre. So far its a decent match, Spuds are racking up the cards with reckless challenges and arsenal is enjoying 71% of the possession. |
oh and Fabianski just fluffed another simple save, once again reinforcing our need to purchase a keeper, send this turd out on loan to Watford or something.
|
Jack Wilshere learned from the best in Cesc Fabregas. The kid is a true star in the making. He went from needing an injury to get on the first team to just about indispensable. He's our single bright spot in the midfield right now, Nasri is playing like shit.
AW needs to get rid of Flappyhandski NOW. If it's a 1-1 draw or even worse a loss, Gooners around the world will want to scalp him. HORRIBLE 'attempt' at saving, dove far too early, Keane made him look like a fool. Loan him to...I dunno, Portsmouth or somewhere where the games lost won't be on his head alone. He'll get lots of practice too lol Djourou needs more time on the pitch with Koscielny for that partnership. Right now, though, I think our best is Kos + Squillaci. We will need to work TV5 in slowly. |
Werd. Koscielny has been lights out all match, he just saved a sure goal from Lennon with a perfectly timed tackle, he looks to be yet another shrewd buy for AW, and I agree, Squill and Kos are money right now, Verms is world class no doubt, but him being out over the past few weeks have allowed the frenchies to step up and shine.
|
off topic but did any of you dload the Fifa 11 demo yet? if you did, whadya think? I think the shooting is spot on and I love the way the goal CLANKS if you hit the bar.
|
not yet, i'm for sure getting it when it's released tho. hence i didn't bother w/ the demo.
|
I haven't downloaded. I want to go into the game virginally pure.
I've been watching the match a bit, but not enough to get any real impression other than Arsenal are keeping the **** out of the ball. I was planning to record & watch at home, but I've got a flag football game & two matches tonight. |
Jacky Boy's passing is fantastic. He & Chamakh are becoming my favorite players of the year.
