I might rent that Sigma 50-500 lens to see how I like it. A friend of mine recommended BorrowLenses.com and they rent that lens. I can get it for 1 week for $92, then determine if it's worth $1500 to buy. My plan is to ask for it for my birthday, but I want to make sure I like it.

I will also need something good for my weekend at Richmond for the September NASCAR weekend (I have full media access courtesy of Gamestop and Joe Gibbs Racing) so I can take some good shots. I think that 50-500 would be pretty versatile at a race track... walking around the garage and trying to get track shots.

Just need to have a 18-xx with me as well so my friend can take a pic of me with Danica Patrick. I'm going to ask her to take a pic with me like she's my girlfriend. I wonder how many people will escort me away.
