600cc motorycle engines rev to 15 or 16k, so that would give you a good start. Put two of those together in a V-shape and you'd have a 1.2L V8

600cc motorycle engines rev to 15 or 16k, so that would give you a good start. Put two of those together in a V-shape and you'd have a 1.2L V8 that revved to 16k and made about 250hp. I actually saw a video or article about someone who did this with two 1000cc engines, but can't remember where.
