Although I have absolutley no plans to trade in my Z for a Supra, I was really looking forward to it's new release................ until now.

I had absolutely no back information on this car when I first saw it. I immediatly thought: "why does this thing look so much like a BMW?" Now I know why.

I truly don't understand why Toyota would rely on another manufacturer to produce a car that has such a rich history and has been anticipated by the car community for over 20 years. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this was a serious mistake. Mistake number 2: it only comes mated to an automatic transmission. Clearly they aren't listening to enthusiasts.

Just my $0.02

And you know what's funny? The '20 Subaru Sti will be faster and will probably cost less the sad thing is, just another loud sti you see on the street driven by teens

So much cheaper, faster, better balanced, lower center of gravity, better tech, and safer than the previous Supra. Why did they bother?

Did you know 50% of people who buy the M2 prefer it in auto?

Yup.
But 50% for a manual transmission is a stellar number for any car unless it’s and incredibly low volume seller. Four people will always want a stick shift. The rest want to drive fast!

Honestly, I hardly see sti's anymore. What's up with that? I saw a really clean one today and thought to myself "I don't think I've seen another sti in months". They were so popular in their bugeye days.

I live in Miami but fly to Orlando for work business every two weeks and I see more sti's or wrx's in Orlando than in Miami. In Miami you will see more high-end cars than in Orlando. Seen at least 5 type R's in Orl and only 1 in Miami

They messed up in my opinion, big time. By dropping the ball on this one, it will give Nissan the opportunity to release a new Z and take a hold of the market, hopefully.

Exterior Design: I think it's decent, not the best looking car but not the worst. The concept was beautiful, I have no idea why they veered so far away from that design. If they retained the concept design, it would have worked in their favor and put them far ahead of the competition. 7/10.

Interior Design: Really? You literally copied the Z4 from BMW. For crying out loud, your have a company under your ownership called Lexus, you could have taken their interior design of the LC and taken it up a notch or two. You could of given us something extraordinary and set the benchmark in the segment. But no. 5/10.

Engine: I feel as if a in depth perspective is not required. Again, you took a unreliable BMW engine and threw it into the "Supra". How creative. You could have brought back the 2JZ and baptized it so that it would be made for the 21st century. 5/10.

Overall, I'm dissapointed with the car as a whole. We waited years for this? Right. I stand by the philosophy of "If you're going to do something, do it right with all of your effort".

Overall score: 17/30.

Not to hate on the Supra, but it is not as special as I thought it would be. It took Toyota forever to bring this to market and they dropped the ball IMHO. So-so HP, so-so looks. Just not my taste.
