C8 mid-engine corvette. GM loves their people.

I imagine Chevy just wants their cut. Pay them a license fee to tune it, and they'll be happy to oblige. I wouldn't be surprised if the big tuners, like

I wouldn't be surprised if the big tuners, like HP, already have access.

A good friend of mine is 1st on the list at a dealership where he buys his corvettes. He told me that it should be here in Dec.-Jan. time frame. So I will get a to drive it once he gets it. It should be fun.

Knowing theres a GS model. The z51 isn't worth it imho.

So here's an article about what the Ferrari forums are saying about corvette.

https://www.motor1.com/features/3623...ette-2020/amp/

And its true...
The Acura NSX and Audi R8 might as well end production.
Super cars now have to be hyper cars at super car prices.
The GTR is no longer a conversation. AT ALL

The Supra should be sold at Z sport prices.
The 86 needs to start at $22,000. It's original designated MSRP until toyota felt the need to think that car was more special than $22k

My Z06 wouldn’t even be able to keep your car in its rear view mirror for more than 2 seconds, could go tens of thousands of miles more than yours without a mechanical hiccup, finish a 5 lap race around Big Willow against your’s destroying it and that includes me stopping for breakfast. Not to mention loaded with electronic options and an a/c that I can personally attest will keep you cool driving with top off in 90+F temps. Oh, and the V8 sound in Z06 will make your’s sound like a squeaky toy in comparison.>>

How about your car? >>

Best part of the article. Pwned.

Why does it scare me that the "features" list for a high performance car like this (for all intents and purposes, a supercar), are almost all about creature comforts. I guess I like my sports cars "raw" whereas this is "well done with mashed potatoes, double gravy, veg, Caesar salad, appetizer, desert, big gulp, and a side of fries"!

The good news is that none of those up-sell packages have justification for huge price increases. I suspect they might, just the same, though.

Take a step back...

Think about the demographic makeup of Vette owners...

They are scared crapless over a C7 Grandsport power. LOL Why do you think C7 Z06 sales fell when the GrandSport came out. LOL

I kinda disagree, I get the whole pure bare bones sports car argument, and I do love a totally driver centric car like the 4c, but if you need a sports car that is a good track car and semi daily driver, then all that tech and comfort features make perfect sense.

There’s also the perceived value proposition from the average customers perspective, for $60-80k, if they didn’t offer this stuff, it’d flop. Very few people want a lotus type car, they’d rather something more “well rounded”.

Fair enough. Different buyer perspective. I suspect that you are in the majority, as this car will outsell the 4C, and every Lotus and Catheram ever made by many, many times over.

As to the value bit, not sure. Porsche manages to charge even more for deleting options than they do for adding them. Betting there will be a stripped down factory performance version of the C8, and that will come in at a premium price. Of course, you might be able to do the same thing by buying a base car and stripping it yourself, but Chevrolet will have enough tweaks in theirs to make theirs more worthwhile.

Porsche limits that production of 'purist' spec machines. They limit and hype that for the wealthy purists silly enough to pay. Per unit profit at Porsche is the highest in the industry at times. Its just good marketing. Exsclusivety sells lol. Is the .2 on the 'Ring' worth that if you do not track? Personal judgement as always

No more chrome wheels for the old farts anymore on the C8. I wonder if we can get rid of the lawn chairs so they won't sit behind their beloved Corvette at the car shows. Next time you are at one, take a look.
